Above all, I love my work as a psychologist. This profession allows me to act as both scientist and artist, and I take joy from watching people evolve in their lives. I use talk therapy to adjust and reform your relationship with yourself and others. My approach provides a supportive-yet challenging-environment where we partner together to develop behaviors and coping skills to overcome issues like depression, anxiety, or trauma.

By taking into account the uniqueness of everyone's situation on ethnicity, religion, education, finances, gender, or sexual orientation, we will work to discover and mend the root of your personal struggles. Currently, I dedicate the bulk of my time to my clients, my students, and my research projects.

You might have what people think is a "good life, " but feel something is missing. And while you may be able to get out of bed in the morning, you might feel it's harder for you than others. As a therapist, I provide talk therapy & counselling to understand your concerns and create a plan to reduce your distress.
DISCLAIMER: While adding meditation practices to your daily life can certainly be beneficial, these guided meditations are intended to be used in conjunction with psychotherapy. Accordingly, these videos are not intended to diagnose or treat a psychological disorder without supervision by a licensed, qualified doctor.
Call the customer care number on the back of your insurance card to learn if you have Out-Of-Network benefits. My office does not accept health insurance, but your policy may reimburse you directly with your Out-of-Network benefits; my office bills clients directly. My clients commit to weekly sessions up through 18-months.
I apply Cinematherapy and Bibliotherapy in my work, meaning I will sometimes recommend a client watch or read something that compliments their therapy. And I'll be the first to say that I am not a professional art critic. Indeed, I'm an average consumer of the arts just like you, but I do have the privilege of viewing published works as a psychologist.
Therapy is most effective when there is a solid relationship between the therapist and the client, and reaching out can sometimes be the hardest step in this journey. I've helped guide many people through pivotal times in their life, and I can also help you. Call or email me to schedule a consultation at no cost, and we will take it from there!

He was not nice at all. On the initial phone call, he had so much attitude and was so rude, I cannot comprehend how he would be a good therapist or be able to compassionate.

I was hesitant at first reaching out for help. As a male I always felt that I needed to somehow magically handle any of my issues on my own. Recently my work life balance had become too much to handle. I was able to discuss with Dr. Espinoza some ways to try and handle the added stresses as well as options I can seek through work. Additionally Dr. Espinoza provided me with some worksheets to help me. Overall he helped make me aware that my mental health is just as important as my overall health. Thank you Dr. Espinoza

Dr. E is very professional but also casual. Meaning he is comfortable to talk to but can put his point across on specific topics in a clear and professional way. I am so comfortable talking with him, that I can open up and speak on anything at all with him. He is really thoughtful about allowing you to go at your own pace, and his sense of humor helps with making things feel more lighthearted. His expertise in behaviors and patterns help with understanding that it's better to seek help than continue to suffer with the continuous cycles. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.

For the past 6+ months, dating back to June 2020, I've been attempting to resolve a payment dispute with Dr. Espinoza and my insurance company. Dr. Espinoza has refused to take full responsibility for what is owed back to me after my insurance reimbursed his office -- essentially paying him twice -- instead of directly back to me for 9 sessions. His indignant attitude and lack of understanding when I raised the issue over e-mail -- refusing to get on the phone with me OR insurance to hear me out -- felt unprofessional and was honestly shocking. As someone recently unemployed from a pandemic-related
