Services
At some time in our lives, most of us will make or assist in making funeral arrangements for a family member or friend. The funeral is an important ritual. As difficult as it may be to face, most of us accept death as an inevitable part of life. Today, a dignified funeral ceremony and opportunity to say "good-bye" to the deceased remains an important part of life.
No matter if a death is sudden, or if it something that was a long time coming, the loss of a loved one makes us feel emotional and overwhelmed. No amount of preparation can fully prepare you for the loss of a loved one. When you are in a heightened emotional state, even the most basic decisions can seem staggering.
Traditionally, a burial service involves a visitation, followed by a funeral service in a church, or other place of worship. The casket is typically present at both these events, and it is your decision on whether to have the casket open or not. You have the option of having the remains interred (earth burial), or it may be entombed in a crypt inside a mausoleum (above ground burial).
Giving a meaningful, moving eulogy can be a nerve-wracking situation for even the most accomplished public speaker, but it need not be. How can you summarize somebody's life in a few short minutes, while being both somber and funny at the same time? Writing and delivering a eulogy is a therapeutic tool to help deal with your grief, and being chosen to give a eulogy is an honor and should be treated that way.

From the moment that my family and I walked into Vorhees-Ingwersen, the compassion and tender, yet, professional demeanor was overwhelmingly experienced. They were very attentive, patient, and caring while we spoke of all that our family had been through over the last year and half. Everything that was promised, came to fruition do to all of their on-going efforts! The environment felt very warm and cozy, and the staff was very consistent in making sure that everyone was comfortable.

Donald J. Ingwersen and the office staff at Vorhees-Ingwersen Funeral Home are an excellent example of how a company can turn a devastating situation into one that is filled with compassion and care when dealing with the death of a loved one. I was there for my wife’s aunt’s funeral and was amazed at what an incredible job they did making her look so good. I saw her in the hospital after a long battle with cancer and she did not look as refreshed as I saw her look at the wake. The wake was done very professionally and everyone there was very helpful and accommodating. Thank you for doing such an awesome job!

Had my father's viewing here. Bridgette and Donald provided excellent, compassionate, and patient service. I live out of state, so working over the phone was a challenge, but Donald and his staff made it simple. They are a longtime pillar of service in Ridgefield Park. I thank them for handling all the details correctly.
