Prop Guard is made to surround the propeller like a nozzle. This designed action moves water with a controlled directional force which helps promote improved handling and increased thrust. This nozzle action is accomplished with no moving parts to adjust or replace. Whether you have an outboard or stern drive, Prop Guard will increase propeller efficiency.
The closer the prop blades are to the Prop Guard rings, it will optimize your performance, handling and will not create a drag. Your motor will also have to be trimmed to a setting of optimal performance (Refer to Image Below.). Be sure the Prop Guard you purchase is the correct size. ALL applications of the 13" and 14" Prop Guards are for PONTOON AND DECK BOATS, and any other application that the vessel does not exceed 25mph.

I was under contract for a dinghy package with a competitor (TW) who was unresponsive, misrepresented the truth and could not deliver after waiting over 4 months. After cancelling and receiving refund I immediately called Maurer Marine who talked me through an available package. Maurer Marine was EXCELLENT to work with, very helpful in customizing the package, responsive to questions during the build and delivering on time!

Wanted to buy a new motor and boat and thoroughly did my research and pricing not only it was Maurer very competitive on pricing the attention to detail and quality of parts were noticed, everything was easy and staff was a pleasure to work with, they also serviced my engine after the break in and we’re still as equally patient and kind as before I had even bought the boat sales was A good experience and service was the same - will be going back.

Had my outboard motor worked on recently and dropped off at the Maurer Marine.
It’s a successful family owned store which provides good service each time we bring our boat in or need new engine, zodiac or parts.
I was recommended by my uncle and since going, I’ve spoke to many boaters who have also had the same great experience I have. Go to the Maurer’s if you want good service you can trust.

This is a follow up to my previous review of the grappeat purchase process dealing with Craig. Garrett and his crew just completed the new motor install and I am so happy with their work I had to send in another review to compliment them on the job they did going above and beyond what what was required. Garrett was overly patient with me as I had plenty of questions during the orientation he gave me about operation of the new motor and his crew helped a lot when I needed advice on installation of my old prop after I had left their shop and returned to my home. I will not hesitate to go back

Given the delay in getting to my appointment date, you'd think this would not be a 5 star review. But I understand that every marine mechanic in Orange County is overwhelmed with work. Every one I called, in early August, said the earliest they could get to me was either mid-September or later.
Garrett kept me updated on my appointment and let me know that the date was going to slip a bit. By that time, my frustration was maxed out, but not at Maurer.
When I finally did get the boat dropped off, Brynn was friendly and helpful, and Garrett told me that he might be done with it later that

I am so very pleased with the service provided by the lady that answered the phone (Sorry Forgot the Name) I was in need of a prop for my Mercury 40HP Outboard and called pretty much all over OC to see if they can help me find a replacement but I guess nobody in this area has a clue about props because nobody could help me out. The lady that answered actually was able to input my info into their system and provide me with the new part from Mercury and also was able to have that part overnighted to me as I requested. Very Very Happy with the service and i would recommend Maurer Marine to anybody

Maurer Marine, the worst play to take your boat or trailer for repair or service. They promised the specific trailer I needed and said they were "experts" on trailers, but once it was delivered it did not fit my boat. It wasn't even close! They promised to fix it but never did. I spent a lot of money on my brand new trailer and had to go elsewhere to get it right. Even after contacting the owner and his "right hand man" several times they said there was nothing they could do, so the money was theirs. My recommendation is to stay as far away from these unscrupulous and dishonest characters as you

I brought back a 50hp amanzi I bought from them to fix a squeal in the motor, $403.oo later they said they didn't hear a squeal or any noises, they replaced a belt that was in perfect shape, we tested the boat in newport harbor and as soon as the motor started it squealed like a loose fan belt in a car THE SAME PROBLEM RIGHT OFF THE BAT!
They didnt even grease the zerk fittings, they will never see any future business from me or my friends, I never felt so RIPPED OFF,otherwise im sure they are really nice people

Craig and Garrett are amazing and very helpful. Needed my boat picked up from the marine for a 100 hr service and had other things I wanted checked and done at the same time. Was referred to Maurer Matine by West Marine. Arrived at 11:30AM, was told Craig was the only person who could answer questions about dinghies but he was tied up and would be with me shortly. Between 11:30 and 12:00 I was told 2 more times he was almost done but the mythical Craig never came to help me.
I can't comment on their prices or their service but I can say they didn't respect my time and I will not be going back.
