I had never heard of this company until the City Paper posted a link to their Mother's Day package brunches and dinners for free delivery. The packages were varied and you could also order items a la carte.… Ordering was a breeze (just email them with what you want). It was difficult to make a decision, but we selected the Salmon with Creamed Corn Sauce, Green Beans, and Roasted Potatoes. All dinner selections included rolls. I feel as though there was not enough “food for 4” as we had ordered. At least the ham, Mac n cheese, and banana pudding did not seem to be fair proportions. The food was “okay”. I won’t be recommending or… reordering. I had higher expectations for this company. I also didn’t receive the bread roll that was supposedly included with the meal. The banana pudding came in a small to-go cup, maybe enough for two people, not four. The Mac n cheese pan is very thin of Mac n cheese although it may be hard to tell. Not impressed. We used Top Shelf for our wedding in October. Robert is an absolute pleasure to work with! I searched around for months for a caterer and when I found Top Shelf I was so relieved. Robert truly cared about our… vision, was reasonably priced, was happy to cater to our needs and communication was easy (unfortunately a lot of caterers in the Charleston area are not as fun to deal with). We met Nicole and the team from Top Shelf Catering at a wedding expo. We were impressed by the food, most importantly, but also by how professional and personable Nicole and the Top Shelf Catering team were. From the beginning, we always had a good impression of them. Nicole was always on top of emails, replying back immediately, making scheduling… of a tasting easy. The tasting went without a hitch and we booked Top Shelf. Come wedding day, all of our guests were impressed by our southern food menu and praised not only the food, but also the service.

We hired Robert and his staff at Top Shelf Catering to cater our annual banquet this last December and there just isn’t enough room here to praise his professionalism, attention to detail and work ethic!
