I'm shocked. I have never seen a worse teacher of dance as here. My child took kids' hip hop and the teacher Sheeron is clearly a very talented dancer but a terrible teacher. He goes through the moves way too fast for children, and barely breaks down the moves for them. His main approach to teaching is just to have the kids follow his dance moves, which he does too fast for them. And he doesn't provide any useful feedbck to them.
The management of Koresh should provide training to Sheeron to be a better teaching. Just a little training and feedback would be useful. I considered

My daughter took a summer class here away from her home studio, and it was a great experience for her! It was helpful for her to learn from different teachers, and in a new environment. She really enjoyed the class, the girls who call Koresh their home were all very nice to her, and she learned some new things from the instructor.

This place is fantastic. I used to come about once a month for ballet classes before having my second child. Just went back yesterday for the first time in almost two years, and it was even better than before!
Fang is an excellent instructor. I’m an adult who never took dance classes as a child, it’s strictly a hobby for me. But I felt included and like I could keep up with class.

As an adult who always wanted to dance ballet but did not have the opportunity as a child, Koresh has been a godsend. I’ve been taking ballet classes with Fang, Eva, and Tommy for nearly two years and have progressed from an absolute novice to learning pointe by taking 5+ classes a week (yes, I have a full time job). Whether you’re an adult who wants to seriously learn classical ballet technique (Vaganova), or you danced as a child and want to get back into it, or you just want to move and stretch, Koresh is perfect. The studio offers evening weekday and weekend ballet classes from intro (no

I knew Koresh since 1997, but haven't taken adult ballet class continuously after almost four years ago. I was discouraged by my thoughts that ballet is for children and teenager only, and it would be too late for an adult like me to start learning. Eva and Fang who have been my ballet instructors have guided, cared, and given me so much encouragement and made me realize that Ballet is for everyone regardless their ages. I found at Koresh that students will have an opportunity to go to the next level as long as they put their heart fully.

Eva's ballet class is wonderful. She's everything I ever wanted in a ballet teacher. I love watching her move.
The stretch and strengthen class is a great workout. Kevan has a great way to break down how to do the movements to make it understandable.
I chose Koresh because I wanted a real dance school. The ballet instruction is legit and worth the price of admission.
They were loyal to their existing customers and extended the dance cards expiration dates when covid closed the state down and quickly offered online classes. Nothing but good things to say about the owner and office manager. I

I love Koresh. For me, it's a nurturing environment and the teachers love what they do and have fun and I love the variety of adult classes because they challenge me. They are not as easy but easy enough for a beginner and an intermediate/ pro dancer as I am. I appreciate Koresh and the growth I gain in every class

If you take class at STEPS and Peridance in NYC and at Lou Conte in Chicago then this is the place to be! Their open ballet classes are excellent and the location is not to be beat.
Gary and Fang are the best - despite the designation of skill level everyone from pros on pointe to true beginners takes their classes, their combos are "dance-y" and fun and very high yield. No pain, no gain!
Drop in and see for yourself! I've been dancing for 32 years and I highly recommend Koresh!

I've been taking class here for a year- and I keep coming back even though it's a ridiculous commute I come when ever I get the chance. I've taken Ballet, Jazz and hip hop with several of the instructors here and I have enjoyed each class- I feel challenged and inspired every time I step on the floor- and it makes my heart sing EVER time I leave to catch the train. 10/10 best in philly.

The best dance studio in the Philadelphia area offering a wide variety of dance styles from ballet, to hip hop, to modern, to jazz, to stretch and strengthen classes. All of the instructors at this studio have impeccable resumes that demonstrate a high caliber of talent and professional experience. They often run class card sales which helps a lot of aspiring professional dancers afford to take classes and keep their technique in tip top shape. The facility is beautiful offering 2 HUGE dance studios along with 2 smaller ones.
And not to mention, it’s right in the heart of Rittenhouse square

The classes/teachers were fine, but the heat in the ballet room is unbearable. It's kept way too hot. Everyone's face is red after tendues. I even googled it to see if hot ballet was a thing. It was so warm I felt light-headed and it was like that both times I went. I don't know if it's a deliberate choice or if the A/C is bad, so maybe I'll try again in winter. (And I'm NOT talking about the hot/humidity that comes from walking into a room where people were sweating. I've taken class in LA and NYC and never had this problem.)

Amazing teachers and some nice people at the front of the desk. However, Nir Koresh (one of the owners) has always been incredibly rude to teachers, to parents and has talked down to me multiple times. I know that many teachers feel disrespected by him and don't want to stay and I know that many people have stopped taking classes at Koresh because how uncomfortable Nir Koresh had made them feel.

Chellie's Tuesday night hip hop classes are the BEST! She really makes you feel comfortable and will actually explain to you the dance moves. I took one of the "beginner to intermediate" hip hop classes with Tyger and decided I won't go back to one of his classes. Personally his teaching skill wasn't my cup of tea, his class also is NOT for beginners. I couldn't even imagine if a beginner walked in to his class. Wording should be changed. Other then that, I recommend this studio to anyone in the city wanting to take hip hop classes. (can't speak for any of the

My favorite place in Philly to go take drop in dance classes! They have classes everyday of the week for beginners to advanced professionals and every style of dancer! Teachers all hold high credentials and give lots of individual attention to every student. Classes are kept small and intimate which is hard to find in a big city. The studios are all large and absolutely beautiful, the lighting projected can really change the mood depending on which class you are in allowing you to really get in the zone. The drop in schedule for adults allows you to train when you want working around your everyday

Koresh is easily one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. There's nothing like a Sunday morning 90 minute dance class taught by a professional teacher in a dance style of your choice, before the sleepy Center City wakes up to a rainy day.
I've found a ton of enjoyment trying out multiple styles of dance here, and I love that Koresh offers adult classes in various levels of proficiency.
The dance studio is professionally managed and beautiful, and the folks are super sweet.
I'd highly recommend this place, if not for the dance classes then for the community dance showcases they

I came here for the first time last night for a beginners hip-hop class. I am NOT a dancer whatsoever but I have really been wanting to try hip-hop. Our instructor Sammy was awesome and kept the energy up the entire class. I'm shocked by the negative reviews on here because my first experience was very positive. Although I'm a bit of a slow learner, the dance that was taught wasn't rushed and I think if I were to attend a few more classes I would catch on much quicker. Overall I had a lot of fun and would recommend this studio to anyone who takes dance seriously & wants to get

This is one of my favorite places in the city, and I've tried and tried to find other places to dance here, but I keep coming back to Koresh. Probably the lack of need to drive (if you live in Center or University City) is part of it. There are levels of classes for me (adult former dancer) and most other people I can think of who might want to come here.
Admittedly, it's not a 'family studio', taken to mean 'the studio is a family'--yes, I've had that conversation with the director of another studio in the city--and they might not be the friendliest if you

Terrible policies and rude staff. Also, this place is expensive and it's not worth the extra cost.
The first time I came here they didn't tell me there was a $5 first class special. Right after class I came out and asked for credit in my account and they refused. Ok didn't have, but the next week I bought a class pack. These things expire super fast. If you miss a week, you're out of luck. If you go on vacation you have no chance. On top of it all, they have a ridiculous $25 credit card minimum, which is above the cost of a single class, which is $20!
Don't waste

I've only taken zumba classes before, and taking a hip hop dance class was definitely out of my comfort zone...but it was on my bucket list and I accomplished it here! My friend comes to Koresh regularly and I decided to join because the website had a $5 coupon for me to try my first class! I took Tyger B's beginning hip hop class on Saturday and I have to say that being such a noob and having a lot of trouble following the choreography (partly because I have a terrible memory...including my muscle memory) made the 90-minute class feel really long. It's definitely not something I

Philadelphia is beyond lucky to have such a special place for **all-level** dancers. The commitment, passion and dedication EACH & EVERY teacher has to benefit every person walking through the door, is unmatched. The classes MAY be tough for some, because they encourage growth. The instructors give you personal attention/ critiques because they want YOU to get the most from each class, and not just TAKE your money. It's a compliment when a world-renowned instructor gives you feedback, I promise. As passionate artists themselves, they receive the ultimate benefit from your growth/enjoyment

The negative reviews are confusing because they don't address the actual classes... I get that maybe the vibe here isn't for everyone but the classes are excellent for the most part.
I'm a professional dancer and this is where I come in Philadelphia for my ballet classes. Right now they a combination of EXCELLENT ballet teachers, better than most studios in NYC. Eva, Fang and Amy A. And Amy N. all teach solid professional classes that would be the quality you'd find at a ballet company.
I after that sometimes the front desk staff is iffy but they have a lot of young intern

I would take the negative reviews with a mountain of salt as the feedback is not related to the actual courses.
The classes are PHENOMENAL here mostly because the instructors are top notch dancers and teachers.
The studios will make you feel comfortable enough and you'll have enough room for the mirror.
This is an institution for those SERIOUS about the movement of dance and won't make silly excuses for X, Y, and Z. ;)
