And remember: just because massage feels like a pampering treat doesn't mean it is any less therapeutic. Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan, and work with your practitioner to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs. Stephanie McCranie has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2009. She attended Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Syracuse, New York. I started my business in Manlius, NY as soon as I received my massage license. I knew going through school, that I wanted to open my own business. I really enjoyed the medical side of massage, and knew how much I could help people.
Swedish massage is the systematic and scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of maintaining good health. There are five basic strokes used during this type of massage (effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement and vibration).
Swedish massage is to concentrate on the muscles and the connective tissue of the body to help improve circulation, reduce stress and soothes tired, achy muscles, but is not limited to these benefits.Using slow strokes, deep cross/parallel/ friction along the muscle fibers to release hypertension muscles.
