In 1980, Geoffrey Westfall had a vision for a small animal veterinary hospital that would provide support to the local community for the life of their companion animals. For 40 years, Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital has loved helping clients get started on the right "paw" with their newest family member.
We welcome all companion pets, whether a kitten or a puppy, or maybe a cute pocket pet, like a guinea pig or rabbit, and the occasional reptile. It is thrilling for us to watch our new friends grow and mature, to be there to support both the pet and its owner through all of life's challenges. We care for you and your pets pets as if you are a part of our family.

Services
Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital is a full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. Dr. Geoffrey Westfall established the practice in 1980 to provide quality veterinary health care to all companion animals. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories.
Because of the shorter lifespan, and rapid aging process of our pets, we stress the importance of a 6 month physical examination. Our pets are aging at a rate of three to four years to every one year of our lives. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
The Veterinary Doctors of Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital have a combined experience of over 100 years! Dr. Geoffrey Westfall, graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine, NY, and the owner of Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Dawn Tauro-Miller, graduate of Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, Massachsetts.
Dr. Robert Madenjian, affectionately known as Dr. Bob, is a graduate of Kansas State University, School of Veterinary Medicine. Starting his career in Illinois, he then moved east to the quiet corner, and has been at Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital since 1988. Dr. Madenjian enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but especially surgery.
Dr. Betsy Graham (her real name is Mary Elizabeth) has enjoyed her part time work as a veterinarian at Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital since the fall of 2000. She graduated from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine, at Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY, in the year 1992. In 1986, with the overwhelming encouragement and support of her husband Bob, she followed a lifelong dream to become a veterinarian.

Dr Drake and staff were extremely helpful and made me and my dog Brook feel very comfortable. We never feel judged or talked down or talked “at”. Dr drake and all staff were very knowledgeable and talked to us in a very personable way. The tech who drew blood quickly found the vein in one shot and made brook feel at home. I can not recommend you guys enough.

I was told that this place wasn't good for my pets but let me be honest with you all. It's the best place compared to some other places that I have visited. The care is very good, professionalism is excellent, welcoming, coved19 precautions is very well used, and price is reasonable. I can't wish for more. Come and see for yourself.

My personal experiences at Brooklyn veterinary hospital have never been anything but exceptional. from my puppy's first visit to getting spayed to an emergency visit when she was sick, they have always gone above and beyond to treat my girl with care and compassion. The emergency call I made was when she wouldn't eat or drink, she was lethargic and had a fever, they got her in the same day despite the fact that they are always busy and the world is difficult right now due to covid... they got her on an IV, gave her meds, did an xray and it was affordable. I especially like Dr. Drake and so does

Unfortunately disorganized, information you get from the desk is often different from the doctors. They won’t chart more than one issue per visit even if the doctor has looked at it, the desk will tell you to book another apt. They advised a friend to euthanize her kitten for FIP without diagnostic blood tests, a second opinion with a different vet plus testing confirmed no FIP. Cat is now completely healthy. Turnaround on questions or medications is multiple days. It’s seems as though either they use disorganization to generate revenue through constant unnecessary visits or nobody is looking

We just moved from out of state and I searched around to get the kiddos a new doctor and I'm glad I went with Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital! Dr. Drake and staff were amazing and super nice! She took her time with my cat and dog and helped me a lot with questions/ concerns I had for them. They were very accommodating which made my experience easy and not stressful, especially for Cassie and Scooter compared to past experiences at another location. Unfortunately, I did not get the other doctor's name the second time for my dog's booster shot, but he was also super nice and I want to thank him again
