I found a short term (2 weeks) Cape Coral house rental on VRBO and submitted a rental request. The rental got shifted to Secret Places, apparently a rental property management company.
They were very difficult to deal with. Two examples:
The rental house had number keypad lock. Secret Places would not tell me or text me the entry code. They said I had to come to their office (11 PM arrival) and get the code out of their lockbox, which they did provide the code for. It was like a little treasure hunt, but at 11 PM in the dark. Their only explanation - that's the way we do it.
Second example
