Tooth-colored composites are filling materials that are used to fill cavities in teeth. In recent years, amalgam or silver fillings have fallen out of fashion in favor of tooth-colored composites. Inlay/Onlay restorations strengthen the tooth structure, are made of ceramic, and are more resistant to staining than composite resin material.
We strive to make dental care simple and affordable for our patients. We accept most major insurance plans, have our own annual plan you may choose to enroll in, work with self-pay patients, and can assist those who need payment plans. I had an excellent experience here. I was greeted by a warm Receptionist and reception area. The dental assistant was knowledgeable and kind. The dentist is knowledgeable, addressed all of my concerns and gave me specific follow up care instructions for my concerns. I felt relaxed and comfortable during my visit. I will recommend Wayzata Dental to my friends and family.

Dr.McDowell & his staff were so helpful, professional and explained everything so thoroughly from the time I called to schedule to visit. Explained everything, answered all my questions and took the time to help me understand. This practice has it all. I normally have major anxiety about the dentist due to dental work done as a kid but the team made me feel very calm. They took their time, explained everything and only did what was needed. No gimmicks and not a big list of extra things that may be needed. Try they out you won’t be disappointed!!

I previously made an honest and thoughtful review about my experience at Wayzata Dental and am now being threatened with legal action. Due to my last review, Wayzata Dental has had their lawyers contact me demanding that I delete my review and "cease and desist from making any further defamatory statements relating to Dr. McDowell". I encourage you to read the letter I was sent by their law firm, I've attached it.
Everything I said was factual and has a paper trail behind it. Dr. McDowell is trying to bully me into taking down a review that doesn't flatter him. In my opinion

I found Wayzata Dental on Groupon. They did a cleaning and teeth whitening. I was skeptical to say the least (picking a dentist from Groupon and all), but I wanted to check them out because of their reviews and the technology they possessed to enhance one's dental experience.

Just visited Dr. McDowell today. My kids had a cleaning appointment and I had a tooth that chipped a few days prior. I should have probably called ahead and asked them to schedule me in, but as a busy mom, it sort of slipped my mind. Anyway, Gina and Dr. McDowell were very accommodating and squeezed me in. I was pretty confident that my large chip would be scheduled for a crown, but was pleasantly surprised that Dr. McDowell said we could do a new filling instead. He also recommended a new laser procedure that they have now. The laser is used in place of the drill to remove the damaged part of

The staff at Wayzata Dental are gentle, professional, and very thorough, and the technology is cutting edge! I went in for a cleaning and was very impressed with the service. Dr. McDowell took the time to explain everything he was doing and gave me some great home care tips! I haven't had a better cleaning anywhere & I can't recommend them enough!

I already have dental coverage but didn't want to drive up to my reservation
Went to this dentistry and he told me I had like 5 cavities
Said it was going to cost a lot of money
So I took a drive up to my reservation and they told me no I didn't have any cavities and they resealed my teeth
I think this dentistry's equipment may be too sensitive
Be aware of young dentists who have lots of debt to pay for their education He would have scammed me of a few thousand dollars for work I didn't need!

I've been going here for a few years now. Nice staff and I never have to wait more than a minute or two when I go. They will call the day before to remind me of any appointments and can text appointment info as well which is nice. Has some high tech equipment when cleaning my teeth.
Haven't had any major issues with them, usually in and out for a checkup in 30-45 min.

Like others that posted - we purchased a Groupon and thought we would just go in for cleaning and nothing more. We recently got rid of our dental coverage so thought a simple cleaning and exam would be a good deal. Wrong! I bought 2 Groupons for both of my children. The first one came out with a $1,400 bill - needing 5 cavities filled. Stupidly, we did it. Then I sent my next child in a week later - and they said that she needed $4,200 worth of fillings. She had just been to our old dentist about 6 months prior - had new seelants and no cavities. Here - they said she had 14 cavitiies!

Worst cleaning experience ever. The computer was slow so we waited probably 20 minutes for it to come up. The cleaning only took about 15 minutes. I've never seen such a fast cleaning before. It usually takes time so I can't help but think it was rushed. There was no oral exam. No looking for bumps and lumps, no sticking out your tongue, nothing. The dentist was in and out before we knew it. He was cold, distant, aloof. He just blurted out that thousands of dollars worth of work was needed, and then left. It was the most overpriced dental studio I've ever seen, too. Now it makes

I went to Wayzata Dental from a Groupon that I purchased. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The office is very unique, not your typical dental office look. The person who cleaned my teeth took her time, and did a very complete job. The dentist took time to answer my questions. I liked the first visit so much, that I did schedule a 6 month cleaning before I left.
