When Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford first started Clif Bar & Company, the focus was on making great tasting energy bars for any adventure. Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford began their love of food and wine with cycling adventures through Italy where long days of cycling would end in leisurely evenings of good wine, food and hospitality. At Clif Family we keep a keen eye on our vineyards, ensuring their health and sustainability, and we make our wines with minimal intervention for a true expression of the grape's character. Since we love to eat, we craft all of our wines to be food-friendly and enjoyable for all occasions.
Clif Family crafts artisan foods for indulgent snacking, entertaining, gift giving or enjoying in your favorite recipes. Our Executive Chef John McConnell works with our winemaker and culinary team to develop recipes that pair perfectly with our wines. I saved my last 2021 Yelp review for one of my favorite wineries in Napa Valley, in St. Helena, specifically. This review is long-overdue. We visited Cliff Family Winery at least 5-6 times in 2021.

We book the seasonal tasting that came with four tastings and three different foods to pair with it. We enjoyed the experience. If you sign up for the wine club, you agree to buy 6 bottles at least 3 (or 4) times a year. It was tempting because we spent 100 on the experience and another hundred buying wine and jam.
It's also nice because you can share the tastings with your friends. Still hard to justify signing up for the wine club.

Clif’s wines are 5 stars in terms of value, good variety & Napa quality for $42-75. Ambiance is also nice; relaxing with at-home vibes. However, the tasting cost is very high, $50/person. Wine is paired with two small cheeses & a small airy puff pastry. Our service this visit was exceptionally slow (2 wines in first 75 minutes), due in part to other tables purchasing wine & that process being very slow

There's street parking as well as a private lot.
Bathroom is clean.
Initially didn't feel welcome on arrival. A server was at the front when we walked in. She didn't smile or greet us. We said we had a reservation at 130 and her response was "let me see about that", in a really unpleasant tone. Reservation located and she passed us off to someone else to seat us. From there the experience was excellent. I really liked that we were able to create our own experience rather than pre fixe. I chose all my favorite types and purchased five

We had an amazing night with Clif!!! Our family is a member and Claire put together to most amazing dinner and tasting for us - thank you! Kits killer cab is amazing and Claire was so personable and welcoming for our first night in Napa! She even made adjustments for me (gluten free) and another family member who is vegetarian. Their food truck/tasting room also had delicious food and a great patio!

The Clif Family Food Truck is good! First time here visiting Napa from southern California. I got the Nashville Chicken Sandwich. Just the right amount of spice and the chicken was perfectly cooked. Can't go wrong with this after wine tasting. Friendly service. Highly recommend. Only minor critique is I wish there was a menu on-site. Right now you have to look online or scan the QR code. Kind of a hassle but not a huge deal.

I'm sad we can't do tastings inside (I visited pre-Covid and was delighted by the indoor space!) but was lucky enough to recently do an outdoor tasting. It was lovely! Our reservation was ready for us as soon as my party of four arrived. We were never rushed and the staff was all so friendly! We enjoyed the wine and also ordered food from the truck - it was all delicious!

Became a member right before Covid hit. Pulling up... I didn't think it was going to be worth my time or my livers health but I was so wrong. Ive been back two more times now with 3 girlfriends and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Scott was our host two times and he is super friendly and fun. Yesterday's tasting was paired with food and it was absolutely delicious. You cannot skip this gem. Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

My husband's company arranged for virtual wine tasting through Clif Family Vineyard, and I was lucky enough to taste all the wines, sample all the food, and catch bits of the virtual tour. I haven't been much of a wine fan recently, but this virtual wine tasting changed that! I've never been a Chardonnay fan, but I could not put this one down! It was paired with chocolate caramel balls produced by the Clif family, and I just couldn't get enough. I am also now obsessed with the rosemary almonds that came with the tasting kit and will definitely reorder these from the vineyard

Quaint little winery in Napa totally worth spending the day at! Amazing food truck that has the most flavorful food. I've only ever tasted on the patio-but it's been a relaxing environment every time. I've gone with wine club members and they are always treated very well! Unfortunately, it's only been during covid that I've been, but I've heard they typically have awesome events for their members.

Mix of a great fun with great wines
Came with the intention to taste some wines and maybe buy some. I was not expecting to have all tasting selection so high quality. Beside that, the team was just welcoming and friendly. They had a very good knowledge on the wine, also respected all the team in Clif winery, rspecially their winemaker (a lady yes!! Well done work). All was well orgenized outside with all necessary safty actions. Nice music, foodtruck...so all in all, I spent there much more time then expected. Recommended!!

This review is for their Bruschetteria Food Truck only, although we had a few glasses of wine to go with our food. Clif Family Winery has been on my radar for awhile due to their food truck onsite, and with all the restrictions on dining due to COVID I figured our latest visit to Napa Valley was a perfect opportunity to try it out.

Today my husband and I visited Clif Family Winery. This is our first outing since March. Today is also our wedding anniversary. We made reservation one month ago. Reservations can be made in two hour interval. When we arrived at 10:00 am, we were the only ones there. We didn't mind at all. We had the whole patio to ourselves. The tables were definitely six feet apart. Really appreciated that Clif Family is implementing the Napa County mandates. All staff were wearing face masks. Had an impromptu family trip up to Napa when I found out some of the wineries and restaurants were open. Couldn't get through by phone or online but we showed up and they were super friendly and got us seated in the big room. My sister in law has been here many times before but this was a first for my wife and me. Sean was our host and not only was he super knowledgeable about the wine he was very engaging and friendly. Absolutely best winery! Our friends are wine members and always rave about Clif Winery. We went here for a wine pairing with food and we were completely blown away by the wine, food and hospitality! This place is so cozy and inviting. The staff are fabulous. There wasn't a wine we didn't like. We even split a bottle after our pairing and of course bought some for home! Adorable patio out back that during the summer months they do events. Their food truck is off the hook! We ordered almost everything from their wood truck and loved every bite. Trying to catch up with my Cali reviews here so the Clif Family Winery will start off this journey.
This winery really blew our expectations. It wasn't a mansion size complex but what made this tasting unique from the others was their food truck serving the most delicious organic bruschette bites. You can take them with you to the tasting table and the sommelier will give you pairing suggestions.
I strongly suggest having a tasting reservation because it was pretty full when we arrived. Ours was at 1pm and our seats were already waiting for us. I volunteered to order from the Bruschetteria

Clif Winery is consistently the winery to go to in St Helena. Good wines, respectable prices, and their bruschetta lunch truck is absolutely amazing!
