Prager Winery & Port Works in the Napa Valley's St. Helena, has been the perfect prescription for Port lovers since 1979. Family owned and operated winery in the heart of the Napa Valley, Prager Winery & Port Works currently offers Vintage Port, Tawny Port, White Port, as well as Petite Sirah and Late Harvest Riesling table wines.
Services
Prager Winery and Port Works was founded in 1979 by Jim and Imogene Prager. The Prager's moved to St. Helena from Orange County in Southern California, where Jim had been a commercial casualty insurance broker. After vacationing in Napa in 1974, he started dreaming of being a winemaker in the Napa Valley, and in 1977 decided it was time to follow his dream.
Our St. Helena Winery is currently open for tasting on our covered crush pad, by appointment only. Our beautiful pocket of the Napa Valley is off the beaten path, but centrally located. Your tasting will be seated, on our covered crush pad, and we do require face-masks to be worn at all times indoors.

[NEW VISIT November-2021] We had such a good time our first trip here that My Girlfriend and I made it a point to stop back by again during our recent trip. The site has certainly had some additions from the last time! The alfresco tasting on the Crush pad is a great touch during the Covid Era. We ended up staying and talking with one of the owners for at least a half hour after they closed.
The tasting now comes with an accoutrement box to nibble alongside as well as you keep your glass! Fantastic touches. All 4 ports on offer were as delicious as ever. Certainly worth it; As this winery was

I took friends to experience wine tasting. It was my first time at that winery. We were running a little behind in time. We missed our appointment time a little bit but we were still welcomed. We were not pushed away and we were there after closing hours. Very friendly. Definitely loved the wines.

Fantastic!! Must Visit!!
One of The Napa Valley's hidden gems.
The Prager family winery is a secret too good to keep for so many reasons. This should be your final tasting appointment at around 3:00. The wine both traditional and their many different ports are wonderful. The petite syrah is oh so food friendly and ready to drink right now. Grab a couple of bottles for your dinner tonight. Then start exploring the ports. Port is wine, both white and red that has had brandy added during the winemaking process. These represent years, decades of age and show the boutique artistry that is tough to

Absolutely amazing ports run by equally amazing people. If you have a penchant for the delicious, savory, and sweet, this is a must see. Have a tasting in the garden and leave with some of the best port you will try in your life.

Small winery, with a good selection of good quality ports. Their Port is well balanced, not overly sweet as the larger brands.

Great tasting experience. Need to call and make reservations. We did call while tasting at another winery, and were able to get in. So, call and check. COVID protocols are in place. Tasting is outside in patio setting. Really pretty. Plus, there are tasting accents, cheese, candied pecans, and chocolates that compliment the ports which can be purchased. Great tasting experience. Very friendly atmosphere.

We didn't make reservations for a tasting because I procrastinated. So we just popped in. The Prager's are so nice they apologized that they didn't have any room, not their fault I procrastinate. The good news we could still purchase left with our favorites, Nobel Companion Port, Aria White Port and Port. Hats off to the Prager Family as they navigate Covid-19.

Very nice & mall place. Great outdoor seating for relaxation. Delicious ports. The only complaint I have is that I paid $80 for a bottle of Prager Noble Companion 10 year old Tawny Port at the winery. After leaving Prager Winery I drove down tbe street to Gerry's Market & found the same bottle of port from Prager for only $40. I was left bummed that I over paid. Other then that 1 negative I had a great time.

What an amazing space! The owners are lovely. The whole experience is fabulous, we had pairings with caramelized pecans and figs and the mix of tastings was brilliant, absolutely worth it! The walls are full of currency from all over the world and gives it a very special environment!

I was celebrating my birthday with a few friends and this was by far our favorite stop. The ports were incredible and the "vinto" tasting pairings were so fun and tasty. We had a blast with Richard and we left the tasting as big Prager Port fans! I would recommend a visit here to anyone. LOVED IT!
