Bala House Montessori offers preschool, kindergarten, extended care, and summer camp programs carefully designed for children 3 to 6 years old living in the greater Philadelphia area. Our programs nurture and lead children through a physical, intellectual, and social-emotional path that is well prepared but constantly changing to meet their needs and interests.

The Bala House is an equal opportunity employer and it is our policy that employees and applicants will not be subjected to unlawful discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, creed, national origin, gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability, veteran status or any other basis prohibited by applicable state, federal, or local laws.
Services
Founded in 1969, Bala House Montessori is a unique, vibrant, and diverse community. Each day young children bring distinctive gifts and boundless curiosity into their classrooms; parents give time, talent, and support; teachers cultivate a caring and nurturing learning environment where preschool and kindergarten children are respected, the curriculum is challenging, and classrooms are welcoming and peaceful.
Our admissions team wants to make sure all your questions are answered so your family can make an informed enrollment decision. We would love for you to visit and see for yourself what makes Bala House Montessori different from other preschool programs. Bala House occupies a state of the art facility adjacent to St. Asaph's Episcopal Church at the intersection of Conshohocken State Road and St. Asaph's Road in Bala Cynwyd.
Bala House Montessori has a rich tradition of parent involvement and an established culture of giving.

Thanks to many community members, past and present, generously contributing to our Annual Campaigns, Capital Campaigns and Bala Galas, Bala House children enjoy a state of the art facility, wonderful new classroom materials, and beautiful furniture; the entire staff has attended national Montessori conferences; and many families have been able to give their children Montessori educations.
At Bala House Montessori we encourage EVERYONE (moms, dads, grandfriends, etc.) to actively participate in all aspects of the workings of our school. We believe the education of the whole child is a cooperative effort between families, teachers, and children. Volunteer needs and donation requests for fruit, vegetables, flowers, etc will be published in the classroom news and weekly school emails as needed.
Bala House, located on the Main Line, provides an exceptional Montessori program for preschool and kindergarten students between the ages of three and six years old in which their independence, self confidence, and social skills are fostered. We have five mixed age early childhood classes and two kindergarten classes.

Our son started at Bala House Montessori as a 3-year old and has loved it since his first day. The school offers a fantastic academic curriculum, beautiful facilities and a family-oriented community that is hard to find elsewhere. The Director is warm and engaged figure who knows all the children and families. We have loved the Montessori curriculum and the beautiful learning materials in the classrooms. Weekly instruction in art, music and movement make the program a truly well-rounded experience. The school has a large field and expansive playground, which was necessary for our active son. I
