Arto began dancing in the age of 9 in Moscow, training with world renowned dancesport coaches including Shirley Ballas, Colin James, Dmitry Timokhin, Slavik Kryklyvyy, and Donny Burns. He quickly became one of the most distinguished dancers in his category and, with a world class status, began representing Russia internationally.
At the age of 18, Arto moved to America where his successful competitive career continued in both the amateur and professional divisions. He has trained competitive couples and pro-am students of all ages - many of which have gone on to win national titles. He is one of the most sought-out dance instructors in the Bay Area.

Ballroom dancing promotes manners, good posture and social skills. On a purely physical level, Genesis DanceSport Studio's Kids Dance Classes provide the benefits of exercise: improved health, well-being, coordination, and muscle tone. Dancing has a broad range of health benefits. It has been demonstrated to be effective at improving body image, self-esteem, attentiveness, and communication skills.
We offer all partnership dances, from waltz, tango, cha-cha, and salsa, to swing and club dancing. We can help you with your wedding dance, all of your social dance needs, and any dance done with a partner. We teach both singles and couples here at Genesis DanceSport Studio.
If you come in as one of our single students, your instructor will be your partner for your private lessons, and our groups and practice sessions will provide plenty of opportunity to meet other students with the same interests and goals.Private lessons consist of one student or a couple working with one or two instructors.

I have always loved moving to music but unfortunately, I took a long break from dance (primarily hip hop and cheerleading) ever since graduating from high school. When I got engaged, my fiance and I decided to take wedding dance lessons at Genesis and we absolutely loved (and still love) our instructor, Matteo. I feel very misled by this company and their offers online / through Groupon. We purchased a groupon for Group Dancing lessons and when we arrived for our first class we found out that 1) the groupon was per person not per couple 2) that there were other dances beside the classic waltz / wedding dances being taught. The woman we interacted with was incredibly rude and claimed that all this info was on the website and the groupon. Supposedly, their website said what dances were being taught in which month etc etc. None of that was available when I looked. I went through all the information available

I have been training in Latin Ballroom at Genesis for about 4 years and it is an amazing studio with kind, helpful, and skilled instructors. The atmosphere is great for anyone looking to compete or just have a good time. The studio is clean and organized. All staff is helpful and very responsive to my needs. I highly recommend this dance studio to anyone.

Thanks to Genesis Dance School my fiancé and I have an awesome dance for our wedding!! Sarah was an amazing choreographer and so much fun to work with. She got us to relax and have a great time. Excellent studio - I've been taking multiple lessons at Genesis (group & private) on a weekly basis for the past 6 months and highly recommend for everyone of all levels of experience and goals.
Just to name a few things...the instructors are (1) incredibly skilled and accomplished; (2) great teachers that can identify what you should work on and adapt to how you learn best; (3) tailor lessons to your individual goals whether its social dancing or competing at the open level; and (4) really care and are dedicated to your progress and success.

Rented out the main dance studio for a birthday party. As a party rental, this place is versatile.
Pros:
This is a huge space. It could easily accommodate 75 people. There is the large dance floor, clean bathrooms, couch, stools, and a large back bar area, which is great for setting up food and drinks. Obviously no food and beverage minimums to hit with this venue. Whole wall of windows brings in natural light. Good sound system.
Cons:
Steep flight of stairs to get up to the venue (2nd floor)
Light switch was hard to find to light up the back bar
They book multiple parties here each night

My wife and I took lessons about a week and a half before we left for our wedding and they accommodated 4 one hour private lessons. Patience is certainly one of Irina's virtues. She was so helpful. The price was right on point (slightly less) compared with other studios I called. Would return if we decide to take more classes.

This is a beautiful space however I am disappointed with the class I took a few weeks ago. I bought a Groupon for 8 classes and felt the instructor ignored myself and the other groupon user. The rest of the class, regular paying students were given excellent attention and care. The same music was played on repeat and I spent the night dancing solo- there was no partnering.

Everyone should go to Genesis Dance School to prepare for their wedding dance! After only 4 lessons with Irina, my fiancé and I learned a beautifully choreographed dance to our first dance song. Everyone at the wedding could not believe our dancing skills and said we looked like professional dancers even though we each had 2 left feet before meeting Irina. Thank you!!!

Being a long-time salsa dancer and general lover of dance, I wasn't sure what was going to happen with my not-so-coordinated fiance. But he really enjoyed the first few group lessons we took. Our instructor was very patient and took a lot of time with the basics. He was so motivated after, that we signed up for four months of privates! Irina was wonderful and was patient with us even when we started running out of time to practice. The waltz routine she put together was so sweet and beautiful. The instructors here are the best! They are great with kids, yet strict so they learn the proper technique. My daughter has learned more here in six months than years at other dance studios. Highly recommend! Arto & Irena are so patient...maybe one of these days I'll even take a class! That would be a true test of their patience! :)

My wife and I got 4 waltz lessons for our wedding with Irina and Arto. They were fantastic! In only 4 lessons, we had a beautiful 3+ minute choreography and dance put together. We just practiced on our own a bit in between lessons and after and we were good to go!
