Today, DanceSportVA is a student, veteran and locally owned and operated ballroom dance studio. It is this perspective we bring to develop a truly student focused dance family. Like many students we began with the desire to just have fun while improving our social dancing skills. Together with our talented and amazing staff we hope to bring you a student centered dance experience that is second to none.
For generations, human civilizations have been dancing. Whether for cultural reasons or pure enjoyment, there's a wonderful feeling that one gets from the art of movement. Just ask the dedicated dancers who come to DanceSportVA every single day. This is most important thing to know about us. The owners are students themselves and they do this for the love of dance. We want to share that experience with our students and friends. So, yes, we are the largest and most diverse studio in Hampton Roads, and yes, we have many unique features you will only find at DanceSportVA- but remember, this is where the fun people go.
Our studio is the largest ballroom dance largest venue with a 3,000 square foot Main Ballroom, a 1,200 square foot Junior Ballroom, and a 1,800 square foot club room, all with raised sprung floors. With a licensed capacity of 350 we also have the largest studio overall.
The studio has been recently remodeled throughout with new tables and comfortable cushioned chairs, new state of the art lighting, sound system and DJ booth, remodeled bathrooms and kitchens, new 25,000 BTU HVAC system, and much more.

We've been going to DanceSportVA for about 5 years attending dance parties, group classes, showcases, and private lessons. It really is one of the best run studios in the area. The instructors are all top notch. The facilities are beautiful and spacious. And the dance floor is one of my favorites in the area.

The knowledge and level of professionalism from the instructors at this studio is unmatched. Kristina, the young woman who runs the front desk, brightens your day as soon as you see her smiling face greeting you no matter what kind of day you’ve had. The studio is extremely clean, and all of the proper covid safety precautions are strictly followed. I recommend this place to everyone I can, it’s always the best time during the lessons!

New ownership has changed everything at this studio. The instructors, the HVAC, the lighting, plumbing and freshly painted. The attitude is wonderful and the social parties and fun and well attended. Yes the instructors are also in the business of selling but I have seen where this does not take precedence over the quality of teaching.
Since their Friday social dances are open to the public all someone who is unsure needs to do before buying a Groupon is show up, pay the $10 admittance and attend the party and included lesson.

This review is in regard to a Groupon we used here. Groupon is only a selling technique to get you to buy incredibly overpriced individual lessons! We, unfortunately, fell for it and wasted our $30 on basically two sales pitches. We wised up and did not return for our third "private" lesson. Our instructor was nice enough, but the facilities left a lot to be desired and for the prices of the packages we did not even consider returning.

Probably the best dance studio around. Brett has a natural ability to teach, yes, not every dance teacher can do this. He is not only passionate, dedicated and very understanding. We are taking Salsa and Argentine Tango, yes is all about the ARGENTINE TANGO and my wife is just as excited. If you want to learn, this is the place to get you moving. Highly recommended to all ages, take the step and come down for the Salsa class or the Argentine Tango. . .
