The weather is starting to cool off and Fall is in the air, are you all ready for winter yet? October will be filled with much learning involving health and safety and community helpers. A big focus will be on which community helpers are involved with our health and safety. We have been taking full advantage of the cooler weather to go on a stroller walk almost every day!

From the warm smiles of the Director to the healthy home-cooked meals prepared in our on-site kitchen, we have created a positive, loving and educational environment for all children. Sunset Academy is a premium childcare center providing a loving start for children ranging from 6 weeks to 12 years of age.
Gardening provides a variety of experiences for young children. These experiences include creating, planting and maintaining gardens. They also include harvesting, preparing and sharing the food that is grown. This engages children in nutrition, science, physical activity, and provide opportunities to incorporate gardening in literacy and art programming.
Simply put, Sunset Academy is one of the best schools in the city and the state, as we are rated as Colorado Shines Level 4 by the rating agency of State of Colorado. Parents who care about the quality of the care that their children receive often go to the Colorado Shines website to search for high quality providers.
We are licensed for children starting at 6 weeks of age. There are two infant nurseries, one accommodating 6 weeks to crawling and the second for infants crawling to walking. Each room is supplied with age-appropriate toys and caregivers who combine professionalism with gentle nurturing care. Both rooms are subject to the developmental requirements as stated in the Colorado Social Services Rules and Regulations.
Once your child is at least 12 months of age and begins to walk, he/she will be moved to the first toddler room. Activities are introduced to assist your child's development such as small and large motor skills, language, and cause & effect learning. Older toddler's move into the second toddler room where they begin to explore independence.

My husband and I have had our daughter at Sunset since the beginning of 2018. During our time at Sunset our daughter has learned so many great things. She has gone from a picky eater to eating everything we put in front of her- all of the kids eating lunch together has helped this so much. One of the best things we have seen in the class rooms is how Mrs. Melissa and Miss Lindsey care, lead and teach the kids in the Koala 2 class. The teachers have so many fun activities they do with the kids. The amount of arts and crafts and creative games they enjoy with the kids makes us happy we chose Sunset

Both of my children have been in Sunset before. My daughter had to have heart surgery so we pulled her out and they were very friendly about the whole situation. Then my son had to be pulled out because of the time he would have to spend at my mother's with the surgery because of the surgery. They were very friendly and helpful in the process. Now I am happy to say they will both be going back. All of the teachers are the best part. They are so good to my son and send me pictures daily of his activities. They provide healthy snacks and have fun playground sections for each age group.

My husband and I love this "school". Our daughter went there from the age of 14-18 months and will be returning within the next month along with our 6 month old son. All of the teachers that we have met and worked with are wonderful and seem to truly enjoy the children. The curriculum that they offer is great. Our daughter learned a great deal from Sunset Academy, and we can't wait for her to return.
The only thing that we aren't crazy about is the lunch menu, but fortunately we eat very balanced meals at home. I imagine that this is the menu with least resistance from the
