Brian is good, but the owner (old lady), she supposed change her attitude when having the conversation with the client. I don't think that the owner know how do make civil conversation with the client, specialy client asks the quesition, she supposly knows how to treat the client, it was very dissapointing when the owner answering ignorant question to the client, makes the client that they will think this onwer is not the professional one, hopeless, but brian is good, take care man.

Brought my nephew here for a haircut right before his high school graduation. The young lady (I don’t know her name because she didn’t hand out her business card) who cut his hair shaved a small area. I assumed she tried to hide it, so the shaved side is shorter than the other side.
They were not going to say anything about it. So I questioned them about the spot, they first said it was already there. It was “shaved from the previous haircut.” Then they changed the story saying that he’s losing hair! How dare you traumatized a teenager saying he’s going

Family has been going to Kakaboka for 7-8 years now. We always get our hair done by director stylist Suh (female). I've tried other places, but always end up coming back to get my hair fixed from the mess the other places made. I don't trust anyone else with my hair anymore. If you are looking to do a certain style, make sure you come in with a picture of someone who has similar hair type as you. A lot of people complain that their hair didn't turn out as they hoped, but they are comparing themselves to people who have completely different hair types.

I got a haircut by Yoonkyung Lee last night(2/11/2021). I haven't had a haircut since December of 2019! So my hair was lifeless & too long that came all the way down to my waist. I've never been to this place to get my hair done so I was bit nervous but right from the start, Yoonkyung made me feel super welcome and comfortable. She knew exactly what I wanted, got it done & more!! My hair feels so much lighter without feeling too short! I absolutely love my haircut!! I'm going to keep going back to her to get blow-dry styling until my hair grows out for another cut. Haircut

I am a designer and Shen is the best hairstylist I ever had. She is quiet and patient. She have good taste if you willing to trust her's design. She respect my opinions and give great suggestions. Shen's work is delicate and accurate. The most important thing about a good haircut is the stylist's aesthetic. Shen will be the best choices. She is a very responsible and attentive hairstylist.

First time getting my haircut here, saw the reviews recommending Shen and I made an appointment with her! She asked how I wanted to style my hair, but she also offered creative input which was great as she knows what she's talking about. She offered suggestions based on my face shape and hair, taking into consideration my input as well as my requirements (need to look professional for my work) and I felt confident letting her cut and style my hair for me. Good service by Hoon. Space is big so I felt safe being far away from other customers.
Very happy with my hair and hoon asked me many times during the haircut if I was happy with how he was styling my hair.
There are comments that they won’t treat you well if you’re not Korean. I never experienced that. It was very professional.

Tbh I love kakaboka. I have seen Jay maybe 10 or more times. Every visit I ask for a different hairstyle and every time I leave happy. The space its self is large with a comfortable setting. Their staff is very friendly and always makes me feel very at home. Jay is very talented, versatile, and kind. Definitely recommend. 10/10

I have always been thinking about getting a short haircut and Shen got me a really cool one. Shen is soooo interesting. When we discussed the style of my hair, Shen said she would design the haircut according to the style of the client she felt on. Then, I asked her what kind of style she felt on me, she answered "just cool". Haha!! I do love her judgement hahahaha! Then, she did a very detailed work on my hair and spent almost 50 min on me. She did not talk too much. She was very considerate and told you how to manage your daily hair to stay cool and appropriate

Excellent experience. I’ve been looking for a good Korean place to style my hair and I’ve finally found it with Kakaboka.
I made an appointment same day and was able to come in within an hour. No wait time (I went on a weekday and not on a weekend). Staff was really friendly.
I think the only thing I could say is that during the shampooing, I would have preferred some more hair massage. But other than that, my whole experience was awesome. Highly recommended!

First time trying. They do take walk ins but it's better to make an appointment. I made a late appointment and I arrived bit early but they were able to take me right away. I got my hair washed first and was assigned with one of their hair dresser. He was very friendly and welcoming. He asked me how short I want to cut my hair, which I wasn't really picky about it. He took his time explaining through the process. However, it was just an ordinary hair cut. I'm looking forward to visit for other services.

Finding a good hair place can be tough! I travel an hour to get my hair done at Kakaboka because I really like this place. I used to try to pay as little as possible for a haircut but then I realized that you get what you pay for. My hair definitely looks a ton better. The haircut (and style you choose) make a huge difference!

Love this place. I was looking for a new hair salon to go to since I moved out of the city. All the staff were friendly and gave me advice of what kind of hairstyle would be best for me and what would not be. They advised me so I wasn't offended in any way. Good quality and service for it's price.

Kakaboka is pricey but worth it.
My hair is straight, thin, hard, and unbending. In NYC, I've gotten haircuts at Polish, Russian, Arab barbers and they look great initially but start declining fast because those barbers just don't have as deep of an understanding of the physics of my hair type. At Kakaboka, they understand how things need to be in order for Asian hair to look good. They can clearly explain how to prepare my hair, and how to get it to cooperate with styling.

I am very disappointed by the service here. I got my hair done by a lead stylist whose last name is Han.
I am giving 1 star because he didn't listen to what I was asking! He gave me a style that he wanted to give!
I paid over $500 for this perm and I'll have curls on my right side and straight hair on my left.
Please save your money & not go here!
