Services
Hapmudo is The Ultimate Martial Art, where you receive a full and well-rounded Martial Arts education. You will learn the mental and spiritual benefits of Martial Arts, as well as, training in the physical aspects. It also includes training in over 70 weapons. Hapmudo is based on the Water, Air, and Sun theory.
DEFEND MYSELF - I intend to develop myself in a positive manner and to avoid anything that could reduce my mental growth or my physical health. DEFEND OUR FAMILY - I intend to develop the self-discipline necessary tobring out the best in my family and myself. DEFEND OUR COMMUNITY - I intend to use what I learn in the class constructively and to defensively help my fellow man.

Yong Sung Lee Hapmudo's After School Martial Arts Program is very structured and promotes self-esteem and a healthy social environment. Yong Sung Lee Hapmudo will provide our communities youth with Safe, Structured Leadership, through Hapmudo.
YSL Hapmudo summer camps include our industry leading traditional martial arts training coupled with summer fun & learning activities. Our camp days are diverse, exciting, and challenging. In addition to great exercise and martial arts camp days include field trips, constructive games, kid's movies, art and crafts, and character building activities.
The Grandmaster and Founder of our Studio is Grand Master Yong Sung Lee. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Grandmaster Lee came with his family to the United States in the 1970's. His experience in Martial Arts extends over 40 years and spans all areas of the Martial Arts.
Among others, Grandmaster Lee possesses and 9th Degree Black Belt in Hapmudo, 8th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido, 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo as well as Masters degrees in Kung Fu, Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Kickboxing, Kendo, TaiChi, and over 70 Weapons.Because of his extensive background, we are fortunate to have a very complete and unique curriculum in Martial Arts at our school.

Hats off to Master DODD! My grandson is on his 3rd class and I have already noticed the IMPACT that the class has bestowed on him. Master DODD I want you to know a lot of children are lacking outside influences POSITIVE outside influences and we need you in the community. I was in tears watching you teach/mentor our children with such love and compassion. Please I beg you continue on and KNOW your efforts and dedication are noticed and appreciated. We’re so glad that we chose to send our two boys to this Martial Arts program. Everyone is professional and truly cares about the success of each individual student. I love that belts aren’t just given but that they are earned.
We also chose to send them to their summer program which has been nothing but awesome. Our boys have come home happy everyday and are eager to return the following week.

Yong Sung Lee Hapmudo is an awesome place. They not only focus on martial arts but they focus on kids becoming a better version of themselves. Both of our kids are in the school program and our son is in martial arts. They both have thrived in the program. All the instructors are polite, courteous, and provide the attention that each kid requires.

We are SO incredibly glad to have found this amazing gym! The time, patience, and love that the staff put into the students is above and beyond that of other gyms I have interviewed. Like everyone else, we were uncertain how things would change with classes during COVID-19, but Master Barrientez, Master Dodd, and staff have really taken every precaution to ensure our kids stay safe, while doing what they love. Hapmundo is amazing with my 5 year old son. Their school age program is amazing. They help him during school with keeping him on task. The instructors set a positive role model for the kids to follow. 5 starts everyday. My child doesn't want to leave in the afternoons!

Hapmudo is AMAZING!! The programs are organized, the staff is professional, and the environment is designed such that the children actually LEARN MARTIAL ARTS! The after-school program is structured, educational, nurturing...I can’t say enough about it! Send your child here and you will be very pleased that you did. We were at another place and researched others. I can tell you that this is the best in a wide area. It’s convenientlyblocated in Clinton, MD and there is ample parking. There are tots learning as well as adults of all ages. I highly recommend Hapmudo!

Grandmaster Yong Sung Lee is a major influence in my life. The YSL community embraced me as family. My training was martial in nature, but applied to every aspect of my life.
