Services
Assisted living is a special combination of housing, personalized support services and health care designed to respond to the individual needs of those who need help with activities of daily living, but do not need the specialized care of a nursing home.
Assisted living care promotes independence and dignity for each resident and encourages the involvement of the resident's family, neighbors and friends; staff is available to meet scheduled and unscheduled needs. This level of care provides additional services that may be needed to have a resident maintain a higher degree of independence.

I have been involved with the long term care industry, both personally and professionally, in 3 different states, almost my entire life and I'm approaching retirement age. Sommerset Neighborhood is far and away the best community I have been in for a long time. The accommodations are nice, clean, comfortable and reasonable, and more importantly, you will see the friendly staff frequently engaging with the residents and they are also very responsive to family members. Most important to me though, every time I have been there, I have seen the administrator out in the community, checking on residents

My dad spent a couple of years at Sommerset before moving to a facility closer to family. Each of my visit with my dad reminded me of the care and concern the staff provided him. I was impressed with the friendly and support staff even in the turmoil of a pandemic. They focused on his care both physically and emotionally. The staff willingness to allow video chat during the height of the pandemic was so helpful in keeping my dad engaged with family. I highly recommend looking into Sommerset for those seeking a solution in meeting a love one needs.

I am writing this review from the perspective of someone who has spent many, many hours on the property - not as a resident or a family member, but I do work there as a service provider. I've seen firsthand how they treat the residents. The place is always clean, pleasant, and inviting. The staff is very friendly and caring to the residents - I've seen it personally - and I know you can't fake that. I also know, when we had the opportunity to start work at the facility - the owners questioned us vigorously to ensure we would also be caring and respectful to the elderly residents. That is to say

We moved both of my parents into this facility in the Summer of 2019. Dad had early to mid-stage dementia and diabetes. Mom had a host of physical problems. My father passed away in November of 2020 from full stage dementia and heart failure. My mom passed away in February of 2021 from COVID.
I am conflicted when writing this review. There were some good things, and some bad things about this place. I provide this feedback in hopes of sparking the desire for the facility to improve.
The Good
The facility is clean and doesnโt smell bad.
Staff is generally friendly and courteous.
