Apartments At Ames Privilege
Nestled between the Chicopee River and Dwight Canal, the Apartments at Ames Privilege combine the historic charm of a mill building with modern convenience for your contemporary lifestyle. Built in 1847 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Ames Manufacturing Company building once produced Civil War swords and cannons.

Today, after undergoing restorations and renovations, the building has been transformed into a city-center living community of 149 apartment homes that feature oversized windows, vaulted ceilings, exposed brick walls and massive wood beams. This vibrant community is centrally located just steps from Downtown Chicopee shopping & restaurants, and is minutes from Route 391, conveniently connecting you to surrounding towns and interstate highways.

I just moved in in March 2021. The staff here are great. The office women are sweet and caring. They actually will address your situations. The two maintenance staff are wonderful. when you need something fixed or need a hand they are on it. They have actually killed a wasp for me, help plugged n an appliance in my kitchen cause I couldn't get it in. I am happy here. if your looking for a quiet and well maintained place check out Ames.

Honestly I like my apartment. Prices have gone up and that was a little annoying but they aren’t higher them until January as a courtesy due to covid. They are quicker than most at fixing any problem you contact them about, and I do love some of my neighbors and others not so much. It’s decent and feels safer while still being convenient.

Not safe, loud, dirty and cramped. Staff only cares about making sure the building looks good to potential residents, but doesn’t care about the satisfaction or safety of those currently living there. They keep hiking up the prices while everything else about this place goes downhill.

Pretty dirty most of the time & due to living so close to water there are many bugs in your living space.. Spiders, silver fish in the bathrooms, moths & other bugs that I’ve never seen before... The hallways smell like garbage & sometimes cigarettes too...not to mention the people who smoke in the apartments when they’re not supposed to set of the fire alarms, which last for way too long & are wayyyy to loud.. fire department has to come to shut them off. Lastly the apartments get super dusty so fast no matter how much I clean, the air still manages to leave my nose bloody almost every morning
