Born and raised in a military family, she spent most of her childhood in Germany before moving back to Mountain Home, Arkansas. Dr. Thomas attended Arkansas State Univeristy for 3 years, participating as an NCAA athlete. She then moved to Louisiana when she was accepted to Louisiana State University to fufill her life long dream of becoming a veterinarian in 2012.
At Waterfron Animal Hospital, we recommend that all of our patients receive annual examinations. This helps us to gather information about your pet's condition and determine a baseline of health for them. We also use these examinations to help us identify underlying health conditions or developing health problems, sometimes before symptoms begin to show.
Waterfront Animal Hospital understands how scary a pet emergency can be, especially if we are already closed for the day! For this reason, we recommend the use of Cypress Lake Animal Hospital. These doctors will work closely with you during your pet emergency and can refer your pet back to us after our hours have resumed.
Dr. Desiree Thomas has high ideals and a vision for what exceptional veterinary care should look like, and Waterfront Animal Hospital was founded on those dreams. After working at another veterinary hospital after graduation and knowledge from being a technician during high school, she compiled all of the very best practices she has encountered in her plan for Waterfront Animal Hospital.
Please remember as Dr. Thomas gets closer to her due date she will be in and out of the office more frequently. We highly recommend that you call to make an appointment to ensure that we know you are coming and to ensure Dr. Thomas will be in office. If you schedule an appointment we will call you if it has to be rescheduled.

We have always had great service from Dr. Desiree and her staff. Unfortunately on two occasions our visits were an emergency but everyone there worked to help our Shepard puppy and us through the ordeals. We are so glad that they are here close by and highly recommend Waterfront clinic.

Been going here for several years but due to a couple bad experiences, I’ve decided to never return. We have a yorkie with pancreatitis and is very sensitive to diet changes. She put her on a low fat gi food which has helped. For four days she has been on her deathbed and we was considering putting her down, but then realized the last case of food they sold us, was not the low fat variety. When questioned she said they couldn’t get the low fat and thought it would be ok. If only they where honest about it, and let us know we could have searched elsewhere for the right food.
