Services
Grayson and Heintz have been friends and co-workers for many years. Dr. James Heintz, Sr was the owner of a successful New Orleans veterinary clinic for over 35 years and it was in this clinic that both Dr. Grayson and Dr. Jonathan Heintz began their veterinary careers. He as a kennel worker and eventually a technician; she as an associate and eventually a partner veterinarian.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Appointments are available from 8am to closing time each day. A native of Alabama, Dr. Grayson graduated from Auburn University's School of Pharmacy before moving to Louisiana. After working for several years as a hospital pharmacist, Dr. Grayson pursued a degree in veterinary medicine. She is a 1998 graduate of Louisiana State University's School of Veterinary Medicine.
A native of Kenner, Louisiana, Laura has always had a passion for medicine and animal care. After graduating from Mount Carmel, Laura enrolled in the UNO Pre-Veterinary curriculum. Laura graduated in the spring with a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences. She hopes to one day attend LSU's School of Veterinary Medicine.
Abigail is our new Kennel Manager. She is a Texas native and has been in Louisiana for a little over a year, she is very calm in all situations and loves to make people laugh. She is currently studying Animal Science and is perusing her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology, one of her past times are going on adventures and hopefully traveling the world.

Took my baby in last minute due to her not feeling well, they were able to squeeze her in. They were very Thorough and didn’t provide unnecessary treatments in order to save me money. We were evacuated from the hurricane. Would def recommend and bring my baby here if needed again. Thank you to the whole staff y’all were so sweet.

I had my first visit this evening with my 3 babies at Dutchtown Animal Hospital. I was SUPER nervous because my dogs are new patients there. I have been using the same veterinarian since 1992, but he is nearing retirement. Dutchtown Animal Hospital came highly recommended to me by friends. I am so pleased with my experience. Dr. Kelly was super professional, super informative and made me very comfortable with this transition. The technicians made me very comfortable too; I could tell my babies were loved already. Thank you!!!

Our Bella has been a patient here since they opened in 2010 back when it was just Dr. Heinz and Dr. Grayson. Although they have grown, the high level of personal care has remained incredibly. We recently lost Bella to cancer, Dr. Heinz and his staff cared for her last moments with dignity, compassion, and gave us closure to a difficult goodbye.

I would just like to thank everyone at Dutchtown Animal Hospital. We have struggled for the last 2 weeks and they were so compassionate and supportive. I can’t express how grateful I am for all they did to help us through a very hard time. Our journey did not end as we had hoped but it ended in peace and for that I will always be grateful. We had our first experience with them on Friday 8/21. Our current animal hospital was not open. Dutchtown hospital was recommended by one of our friends. Our Lola was so sick and needed to see someone immediately. They worked her in and although we didn’t have the outcome that we wanted...they were extremely patient with me and my daughter and gave us hours to adjust to the news we had gotten. We will definitely use them for our future pets. I give them a 5* rating on every level.
