Permanent Makeup has been around since the days of Cleopatra. It is used to enhance one's natural features such as eyebrows, lip liner, lips, eyeliner and lash enhancement. Often times, this is used as a replacement for makeup in the desired area treated. Permanent Makeup, or Cosmetic Tattooing, can enhance a man or a woman's natural features.

Medical needling, also known as Collagen induction therapy (CIT) or skin needling, is an aesthetic medical procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with very tiny, sterile needles. Athena is the BEST!!! She is so talented, kind, generous, honest and a true expert at what she does. She truly cares about all of her clients and is so passionate about the care and artistry she provides. I have had 3 eyebrows sessions with Athena now (both in her beautiful San Francisco office and Newport Beach) and couldn't be happier with how my brows have turned out! On the first visit she pencil drew my eyebrows over the tattooing that was there. It looked great. I was shocked at the $3,000 price, but assumed she would be the best. Her personality is delightful, but she almost never got the messages from her scheduler that I was coming, and though she focused on an area that needed an angle correction, which she partially corrected. in several sessions she never came back to what she drew day one that I paid 3K for. My last visit I was there 2 hours before she started with me at all. in the end I was frustrated and disappointed, and unable to look in a mirror

I have been to Athena twice for my brows 10 years apart and I have been extremely happy both times.
The first time she fixed my blue black pencil thinned brows into something thicker and more natural colored (dark brown). It took a few sessions, but she patiently corrected the blue black ink into a dark brown and added a more flattering thicker brow.
This time she turned my microbladed thicker brows that I had done by a master in Hong Kong into the perfect permanent fixtures on my face. I just finished my last touch up today and I cannot be happier with the results.

I love Athena. I went with her for eyebrows because I had seen her exceptional reviews. At first I did not really understand that this was not the same as microblading, and I expected my whole eyebrows to be done in one visit. I enjoyed being in her office but left the first time annoyed with what I felt like was not very much done when I had been dreaming of never penciling in my eyebrows again. Like a plastic surgeon with ink! And amazing at scar camouflage. One time when I went and saw her, there was a gentleman sitting in the chair and she was covering up a surgical scar on the top of his head. I was so impressed. When I saw her skill, my fears about getting my eyelids tattooed were assuaged. Expert work. It's got the most amazing view of the city, which definitely helped me relax as I had my eyebrows done. I absolutely had to go back to get my eyes done, since her doing my eyebrows was so great it saved me time, which saved me money, and also saved me sleep. She gave great advice

This review is long over due...Words cannot express how grateful i am for Athena! She transformed my eyebrows. After years of eyebrow waxing , i was left with hardly there brows. Athena had come highly recommended so i thought I would give it a try and at least meet with her. Instantly you feel you are in the presence of an artistic genius! I went to see Athena on the recommendation of my Dermatologist after laser treatment didn't help with some scaring I had.
The results are amazing, better than I had imagined they could be. To top it off Athena is one of the kindest people you will ever meet.

Athena is an angel. I had an accident several years ago while hiking. I lost 30% of my lower lip. Ibwas not abke to get to a hospital before it scabbed over slightly and had to wait 2 months for the wound to heal. I had to have reconstructive surgery to fix the dimpled in texture, discoloration and unevenness. Years later while it was a massive improvement it still bothered me. My lower lip was very thin and uneven on the vermilion border. It dimpled in when I made a kissy face and pulled towards the scar when I smiled.

Athena is THE BEST in what she does. You'll be in great hands - she is extremely detail oriented. My results are flawless & completely natural looking. I get compliments constantly. Over 25 years ago I was infected with a nasty tropical disease that left circular scars all over my neck and chest. Age was making the scars even worse, so I visited Athena to see if she had a solution. Masking the scars has turned out to be tricky, but Athena is extremely patient and persistent. She knows what she's doing, and she's not happy with her work until you're happy with her work.

I have always had dark lips and wanted to get a permanent color that was lighter. After researching for months, I decided to go with Athena, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Athena was warm, attentive, patient and above all - caring. She walked me through what the process involves, set my expectations at a reasonable level, and then gave me her undivided attention for the duration of my sessions. There were a few times that scheduling became a hassle (my fault entirely), but she was gracious enough to accommodate me, sometimes even the very next day!

Athena informed me at the consultation that she charges a fee upfront for services that can be used for the following year.The downside of such a contract was that that Athena was very difficult to get a hold of after the first appointment. iShe often doesn't respond to texts or messages left for her.The color does not last very long after the first session.Additionally, my experience was that Athena consistently had several clients at the same time as well as accepted phone calls while working on clients

Athena is a gem. Aside from her true artistry and talent, Athena's intuitiveness with clients and their specific concerns and needs is fantastic. I am having a scar on my face needled to soften the contrast. I have had 3 sessions and have noticed a huge improvement. While I was in the office I had learned of other procedures and decided to get my eyebrows enhanced. LOVE. Athena "needled" some scars for me (to make them disappear) and did permanent makeup on my lips and eyebrows. Athena fixes asymmetries (and errors made by others) and she has an amazing aesthetic instinct for complementary shape and color.
