Dandelion Nutrition
Dandelion Nutrition is a private nutrition practice in Seattle, WA providing compassionate, patient-centered nutrition therapy & counseling to clients with a variety of health conditions using an integrative and functional approach. We meet with clients virtually from the comfort of wherever you happen to be at the time.

We're on a mission to help you dig up the roots of your health problems and feel your best, instead of piling on band-aid after band-aid. You see, food and nutrition is at the CORE of our health. The traditional medical model to healthcare tends to prescribe medications (uh-um band-aids) and treat symptoms rather than using nutrition and lifestyle to HEAL and PREVENT.
Services
If you live outside of Washington State, please contact us prior to scheduling an appointment to determine if we can work with you. Some states allow it, and some do not. We use telehealth to meet with our clients remotely via a video call. It's just like Skype or Facetime but we use a more secure, HIPAA compliant platform.
Being well-nourished and emotionally satisfied by the food we eat can be really challenging when there are so many opinions out there about what and how we SHOULD eat. As integrative and functional dietitians/ nutritionists, we use an approach that doesn't just look to manage or prevent a disease, but takes a deeper look at the root causes, genetic predisposition, physiological, psychological and interdependent factors that contribute to disease.
We're passionate about helping children to grow up with a good relationship to food and body, and helping parents support their children to be healthy, adventurous, intuitive eaters. We help with the often challenging aspects of feeding the whole family while meeting everyone's individual nutrition needs.
MRT in combination with the LEAP program is a strategic and highly effective method of dealing with the dietary components of many chronic conditions and symptoms caused by delayed food sensitivities that are often failed by conventional treatments. Diet is typically the area that gets the least amount of attention but in most cases is the key to finding relief.
Managing a chronic disease like diabetes can be exhausting. You've probably been asked to check your blood sugar at least once a day and take an array of medications, and you may have been told to "lose weight, stop eating carbs, and control your appetite". You may have heard that losing weight can "reverse" diabetes, so you've tried to restrict your food intake, but you've always managed to put the weight back on (plus some).

From the reviews, I appreciated that Dandelion Nutrition may be a fit for many, which led us to work with them. Our actual experience is that the practice lacks the cultural competence to work with families of color, or those from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The provider we worked with was tone deaf and sometimes aggressive in her interactions - when all we wanted was evidence based guidance for our child. I spoke with Marlene, the CEO, whom I credit with being willing to listen. However, with a busy practice of "mostly white families" as she described them, I didn't sense any

Geanna is a gem. Working with her, I developed a healthy relationship with food, which seemed impossible when I set out. She's helpful, incredibly nice, and I especially loved her body positive attitude. I learned a lot about nutrition and preparing food, and will continue to recommend Dandelion Nutrition to family and friends due to my wonderful and nurturing experience.

I have been a client of Erica Harsch's for almost three months up until this point. She has seriously been a God-send for me! First and foremost, she is so kind and welcoming. It is challenging to receive top notch care during COVID without that face-to-face interaction, but Erica manages to do so by e-mailing lots of information my way and screen shares when need be.
I came to Erica with GERD issues and she taught me how to recognize what is hurting my stomach and what isn't. She also incorporates into her lessons that the gut and brain are very closely connected, and mental health is extremely

Going through the LEAP program was life changing. I have spent my entire life struggling to understand my food sensitivities, and I had hit a wall with experimenting on my own. The fact that I have been symptom free for months now is miraculous. I felt like Marlene was in this with me, not to judge any of my food choices, but to help me figure out how to heal my body. My MRT results were helpful, but Marlene took those results and helped really tailor them to my issues and preferences. I would have been lost in the process without that guidance and support. I will be forever grateful to Marlene

I chose Dandelion Nutrition based on the positive reviews online. However, I am very disappointed I did so. I booked an appt with Marlene for food sensitivity. She recommended a blood test and doing a special protocol for $$$$. I followed every piece with absolutely no improvement for such a high price she charges. Later, I learned that she charges almost twice the price for her LEAP program compared to the other nutritionists I called. When I shared my concern she became very confronting and had a very unprofessional attitude. Shop around before committing to her services.

In the food sensitivity program I found that by eliminating all non-tested and yellow/red sensitive foods that my energy level increased drastically which was huge for me. I know there are certain foods I avoid because they upset my stomach/cause constipation/just make me feel overall not great. I really liked how supportive and encouraging Emily was throughout the whole program. She was very understanding and put my health first when deciding on how slow to go through each stage. She made the program work for me vs doing a generic program. I was so incredibly grateful I could do the program.

Working with Marlene has been great. I felt safe and comfortable having open discussion about food and learned many helpful tips for healthier eating, including recipes to make my life easier and a killer grocery list! I also learned about managing weight and how diets don't really help. She helped me set attainable goals and try new things. I definitely recommend Marlene!

Working with Marlene has been a life altering process. My migraines, body aches, digestion and other symptoms improved 86% in just 1 month! The benefits FAR outweighed the cost. I’m worth feeling this good in my body and about myself! I love how easy Marlene is to work with. She spells things out in an easy to follow way and is accessible for questions when I have them. I am amazed and proud of myself for taking the time to learn the best way to improve my health in the dramatic way that working with Marlene has shown me.

For a child with special healthcare needs, we need providers who are flexible and can work with and around each other's recommendations as well as understand the complexity of our daily lives. Marlene has been that for us. I have a clear picture of what Mason's nutritional needs are as he advances through different stages within his eating development, as well as how to achieve them. Marlene gives you concrete information that you can take home and apply conveniently throughout the day, which makes life a lot easier. She brings up options for meals, which is extremely helpful. Before I started seeing Marlene, I wasn't really sure about how a nutritionist would help me. I realize now that I had more of a problem than I thought and I'm making positive steps towards healing my relationship with food and my body. I needed a good coach and Marlene has been that. She is compassionate and knowledgeable but isn't afraid to ask hard/uncomfortable questions. I like her approach to food. It's steady and grounded. I've needed that. Thanks Marlene!
