My mom lived here a few years ago and was very happy. We needed to move her to Az where she currently lives in another assisted living/memory care place, and thankfully again, she is very happy.
Unfortunately, we needed mom back in the Des Plaines area for a few days for a funeral, and we contacted Oakton to see if they had any apts or rooms that could be rented for a respite stay for those days, which they did.
The director Maria was wonderful, and very helpful in making everything go smoothly. The apt was perfect for our needs and the staff was great in assisting with meals etc. They made mom

My aunt is there now. She's been in 3 rehab centers and the hospital twice.
This is the third rehab place. Their furnishings are minimal and dated and the food is standard institutional fare, but the caregivers on the 2nd floor are a lot more responsive, kind and aware, than the other two places she was in.
They probably should have a system like the hospitals where nurses scan a bar code to make sure the patient gets the right medication.

My Grandmother was there for a few weeks. She had a mild stroke and was expected to have a full recovery. She went through rehab with flying colors but then suddenly took a turn for the worse. My mom called and ask what hospital she was at, they told us the wrong hospital. My grandmother was "lost" for a few hours until we found out she was at Holy Family Hospital.
Prior to that, they "mixed up rooms" with her and another lady. She spent a few days in another ladies room. Which, isn't a big deal, unless you think about the medications elderly folks have to take. They very
