In 1992 Dr. Erick Gray, opened his first Peepers location in Bowie, MD. Dr. Gray's philosophy has always been to provide high-quality, private-practice eye care including state-of-the-art equipment and distinctive eyewear. In 2000, Peepers expanded by opening another office at the Village of Waugh Chapel, in Gambrills, MD.
With offices in Bowie, Gambills, Catonsville, Mount Airy, and Towson, Peepers has been serving the Washington/Baltimore metropolitan area for more than 20 years. In an effort to help build a clear future for today's youth, Peepers Eyecare is offering a free visual acuity test for kids ages 14 and under. The visual acuity test is used to determine the smallest letters you can read on a standardized chart (Snellen chart) or a card held 20 feet (6 meters) away.
During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health. A comprehensive eye exam includes a number of tests and procedures to examine and evaluate the health of your eyes and the quality of your vision.
As a parent, you may wonder whether your pre-schooler has a vision problem or when a first eye exam should be scheduled. Eye exams for children are extremely important. Experts say 5 to 10% of pre-schoolers and 25% of school-aged children have vision problems. Early identification of a child's vision problem is crucial because, if left untreated, some childhood vision problems can cause permanent vision loss.

I had a great experience with Catonsville Peepers and their entire staff and am so grateful to have such a great place to come in Catonsville. I had been to a local ophthalmologist in the area earlier this year who was not helpful or friendly at all and gave me the wrong prescription. I would highly recommend Peepers to anyone looking for new glasses or contacts.

Very warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff and the doctor were very professional and thorough. I got glasses and contacts in Texas 6 months ago and been struggling to see more clearly. The doctor in this practice said that my prescription was too strong. I am having the lenses in my glasses replaced with the correct prescription as well as my contacts. They maximized the benefits of my insurance so I was able to save hundreds of dollars. I’ve been wearing glasses over 40 years and I had the best experience ever with this company.

I have been a Peepers customer for some years now following my doctor from Bowie to Catonsvile. Kim and staff are exceptional in Customer Service. Always Genuinely attentive, responsive to whatever is needed. I take the 38 mile drive each way, bc Quality Service is important and you’ll never be disappointed with Dr Gray and his amazing team.

I had a great experience at Peepers! I was able to schedule an appointment quickly, and the doctor and staff were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! They answered all my questions thoroughly and in plain language, and I felt very comfortable asking follow-up questions.
I've already received compliments on the glasses I bought there, and I'll definitely be coming back the next time I need an eye exam!

I never leave reviews but for this place I had to. Love love love this office !!! Kim is amazing! They have great customer service.
I was having issues with my left eye and I called to see if I could get a last minute appointment. I was able to get in without hesitation!
Dr. Shafi was very helpful and informative and I loved that they called every couple days to check up on me! For excellent customer service I absolutely recommend visiting.

I love them, everyone was super friendly and accepting of my daughter and I. They help me with picking out my glasses which is truly the hardest part since they have such an amazing collection. They didn’t rush me. It wasn’t crowded. They were patient. Financially I used my insurance but they were willing to work with me if I didn’t have enough. Very fast process. Just a all day around good place for everyone.

My family and I have all gone to Peepers recently for eye glasses and then for a medical eye issue and every experience has been completely fantastic. Dr Hammond is extremely professional and responsive. Kim goes out of her way to help support you from making the appointment through selecting glasses. They are far and away the best eye place we've used.

My parents are both customers of this location and have raved about their experiences. Being new to the area, I followed their recommendation and made an appointment. I had the most wonderful and, more importantly, most thorough eye exam with Dr. Phillips. I told her what I thought I needed, she simply asked why... well, turns out every thing I wanted could be accomplished in way less than I was expecting. Kim at the front desk set me up with the perfect new frames that were in my budget, and new lenses for my old frames. Seriously thrilled with the service.
