Services
We understand that eye problems can not be fully addressed at Urgent Care or Emergency Room settings or by general physicians. We have spots on our schedule every day set aside to see people with urgent eye problems - so you can start feeling better right away. Dr. Levinson is available on weekends and after-hours for emergencies and always reachable by cell phone, text, or email.
I was referred to Dr. Levinson by another doctor for excessive watery eyes. Prior to seeing Dr. Levinson I had expressed my discomfort to my ophthalmologist for several years. The only advice I was ever given was to scrub my eyes, use artificial tears, and basically get over it as it happens with age.
Chronic tearing, and watery eyes, ocular irritation (gritty/sandy feeling in eyes). Blurry vision, especially when reading, working on the computer, watching TV, or in the evening. You may also have crusty eyelids in the morning. There are two types of tears - an oily tear (produced in the meibomian glands) and a watery tear (produced in the lacrimal glands).
I have come to realize that the reason eye doctors have found the treatment of "dry eye" to be so challenging, is that for most patients, this is neither a "dry" nor an "eye" problem.
While some people have a decrease in the production of the "watery" or aqueous tears, made in the lacrimal glands, thus creating a dry ocular surface, the majority of the patients we see with "dry eye" have normal or excessive production of the aqueous (watery) tears.Often my patients are surprised when they are told that their eyes are "dry" because they are bothered by excessive tearing.

Restasis works best in the long-term treatment of meibomian gland dysfunction ("MGD"). We find that when people are given Restasis while their eyes are still inflamed, this medicine causes ocular irritation and burning. Just as gasoline works great in the gas tank of car, but you cannot use gasoline to put out a car fire, Restasis does not work when the eye is "on fire" or having active inflammation.

I scheduled an appointment (with ease) for an eye irritation, but also needed a full eye test and checkup. This was my first time at this practice or seeing Dr. Levinson. Wow - I've never left a doctor's appointment in any specialty feeling as confident as I did after this visit. First off, the office is so clean and really seems to have the most technologically advanced equipment, and the staff were all so kind and generous. Dr. Levinson explained everything FULLY in easy to understand verbiage every step of the way. I was so impressed with the entire experience and would recommend this practice

Receptionist was very pleasant. Alex, who did all the tests, did at wonderful job of explaining everything and making me feel comfortable. Finally, Dr. Levinson has a great manner about him. He explained my diagnosis in a way that was very easy to understand. In short, I felt that I was in very good and competent hands.

Dr. Levinson was extremely helpful and thorough in his exam and treatment plan. I felt like a VIP as he went over all the options available to resolve my dry eye issues including just home therapy with no added procedure. I had the feeling that I was the only patient that he was attending to and would recommend him to all of my friends and family. Great guy.

Yesterday was my 1st appointment with Dr. Levinson. He was absolutely amazing . . . extremely intelligent, patient, knowledgeable, caring. And his entire staff was the same. I have serious eye issues & Dr. Levinson is optimistic that my vision may improve. I begin my regimen today of medicated drops & vitamins & for the 1st time in many years, after consulting with so many other doctors, I'm feeling hopeful.

The eye doctor I went to retired. He was a gifted Opthalmologist with a sterling reputation and a warm welcoming personality. I didn’t think it would be possible to find a doctor to compare. After what I’ve been through these past couple years with my vision, I can honestly say that I love going to every appointment. I was never truly satisfied receiving the help I had been getting until I came here. I love the work that’s done here and I’m so thankful for the wonderful experiences that I’ve had. This is especially thanks to Jamie, she cares as if I was one of her own and it’s always just great being able to talk and laugh while forgetting about the stress from an ongoing issue. Can't say enough nice things about Dr. Levinson. Dr. Levinson is kind and takes his time with his patient's. He always explains things so that you understand them. My eye condition is difficult to treat and he is always trying to make my eyes better and come up with new options. I admit I am a difficult patient.. He is always patient with me and always been available for my eye emergencies. His office staff are also kind.
