John J. Gardner, O.D., F.A.A.O., alias Dr. Jack, completed his Optometric studies at the Ohio State University where he was 3rd in his very competitive and competent class. As an undergraduate, he had been awarded an Academic Scholarship to participate in a unique program at the prestigious Villanova University in Pennsylvania where he excelled.
She brings that same passion, work ethic, energy, and commitment to excellence to our patients! From a young age, Dr. Garvey loved eyes, She knew that optometry was the career for her when she learned that, through eye exams, she would not only be able to help people see, but also identify potential health risk factors and, in extreme cases, save lives.
Audrey is a Certified Para-optometric Technician. She is a member of the American Optometric Association's Para-optometric Association and brings an exceptionally high level of expertise as well as compassion to her work with our patients. Audrey joined the Gardner Eye Care Staff in 1991, but she has been a patient since she was 9 years old.
One of the first people you see here at Gardner Eye Care is our people in "blue" (our medical assistants). Our medical assistants regularly go through continuing education to help serve our patients better. They perform vital tests to help the doctors treat our patients' individual needs.
Kim has learned from the best-Bernadette-and stepped into the role of Lead Medical Assistant, taking care of patients AND new Team members, training them on all aspects of patient care in our practice.She has been with Gardner Eye Care for 10 years, expanding her expertise over time to all of the medical instruments and contact lenses as well as spectacle lenses and lens treatments.

I have struggled with my contact prescription for the past year. My previous eye Dr. saw me 3 times in a month Span and was only able to get my left eye to an “ok” point. Dr. Walsh spent only an extra 10 minutes examining my eyes and nailed it on the first try. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable and far beyond helpful. This has to be the best optometrist I have even seen!
