Tiger Taekwondo Academy was founded by Master Jaeseok Choi and Master Kiho Kim based on the philosophy of Taekwondo - Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit. We continue to provide quality martial arts instruction in both traditional and Olympic style Taekwondo. The physical benefits and philosophy of Taekwondo help bring a happier life to our students.
All classes are taught by Master Jaeseok Choi, 6th Dan Black Belt, and Master Russell Larson, 5th Dan Black Belt. They are assisted by several Black Belt students and color belt students handpicked by Master Choi to be Junior Leaders. These outstanding students are currently training to become Assistant Instructors.

How often have you wondered if your child should be doing something more constructive after school? What if you could put your child in a program here in University Place that would stimulate the mind, body and soul? What if you could. Eliminate post-school day loafing around at home that leads to excessive television watching and snacking.
Our birthday parties were low key, and we thought they were tons of fun. You have children, so you know that a child's birthday party in 2015 makes our celebrations look like child's play. And you know what? That's exactly what our parties were. This new breed of children, however, needs MORE. A simple family party just doesn't cut it anymore.

Grand Master Choi and Master Larsen are top notch. The care and attention they give each and every student shows when u watch how hard the students work. They teach how to work as a team but to also have self confidence and focus to be independent. The kids work hard and it shows.

I wish I could rate it 6/5 stars. I did taekwondo here as a little kid and it was one of the richest, most encouraging, strengthening and fun experiences I’ve ever had. The masters are very kind and honorable people, and doing taekwondo can refine you not only physically but also very much spiritually. It can also lead to some great friendships! I’m excited to return after a busy time in my life because I know that it will again be a highlight of my life.

Look elsewhere if you are interested in your child learning martial arts. I feel this is more of a child care program not martial arts. My child was taught very little martial arts at this facility. I feel thier focus is on after school care and playing games not real martial arts. They are very over priced I would call around before signing a contract. I was not happy with the instructors, they were not attentive to my child's progress. After paying over 5,000 we have decided to not bring our child here any longer. We are accepting the financial loss so my child can move on with a real martial

This is our 1st year with our 6 year old doing Taekwondo.
She loves it and we do too! It has been teaching her respect and responsibility. Master Jaeseok is very nice.
Their after school program is great! They even cover the days schools have 1/2 days which really helps us out! And their prices are unbeatable!
I am so happy we decided to give them a try!

Moved to 40th Street near Bridgeport. I rarely give 5 stars but Master Choi and the other instructors are outstanding!!! I wouldn't think of going anywhere else! Pace and class instruction are tailored to your level and I enjoy every session. The atmosphere is always encouraging and friendly. Attending class is one of the highlights of my day. I didn't think I would advance so quickly and believe it is truly a reflection on this Academy.
