Mount Ida is my new favorite cville winery! They have amazing sangria and mimosas that are so refreshing. Their frosé is a popsicle in their rosé which is so fun even though I'm not a rosé person. Both times I've been, I split a bottle of their viognier with friends and loved it. They also have food available and don't allow outside food but I haven't been able to give it a try yet. The views are scenic and gorgeous and they have plenty of indoor seating and seating in the shade. The service is attentive. The prices are a little high but nothing anomalous for cville wineries and totally worth

View is great. Good looking building.
I ordered food today (Sunday) and was a disaster. The food menù is minimal. I ordered a cheese plate and they brought cheese in box straight from the grocery store. Not even the effort to put on a tray. the wine serving was very stingy. I was charged $140 for the cheese box and a few glasses of wine with friends. I had to ask the detailed receipt to discover that the waiter overcharged me with food I never received. Service was abismal. I brought some friends from outside town and I was embarrassed.
Too bad because back in the day the food and service was

Wow! I've been here twice, once with my kids (toddler and preschooler) and once for a baby shower I was hosting. Both times were absolute wins with great service, flexible servers for our odd needs, extremely beautiful setting and building, and delicious food. Stop everything and go to Mount Ida! It does not disappoint.

Nice view. Delicious wine - 2017 Tannant - $12.75 per serving - but served in a plastic cup!! Really??? What in the world are they thinking??? So …. I decided to walk inside & ask for a wineglass - at first I was told that it was to protect the people washing dishes due to COVID but the server changed his mind & poured the wine into a glass for me. On my way inside I saw a couple seated outside under cover with a bottle of wine with two wine glasses - so why was that? If one purchases a bottle then you can drink it out of a REAL WINE GLASS but if you only order a glass of wine you get to drink

Lovely scenery and the white/rose wine we tried was great. Only downside was that it was a really hot day and the parasol didn’t provide enough shade, so we asked if we could sit on the patio instead. We were told no without a reason given - there were a couple of spare tables which didn’t appear reserved, as we were there for a couple of hours and no one else sat there. So, nice wine and setting, albeit very hot…

What on earth did I just experience?
The good: the view and the service. Our server was kind, down to earth and knowledgeable. And get past the doors and the view is breathtaking.
Everything else was a miss for us. Unwelcoming, opulent, better than you attitude from the minute you drive into the neighborhood. The grounds have an overwhelming smell of fertilizer, which makes the view unenjoyable. The venue is so spattered with the ambiance of “you can’t afford this” it’s tough even being there. The advertisements for gated, multimillion dollar properties didn’t help.
And the kicker

Beautiful venue and beautiful view of Shenandoah's in the distance. Comments from other guests seem true. They really don't have the staff or even tables to keep up when it gets crowded, so wait time can be long. I was lucky and visited with moderate crowd. Food was quite good and staff was friendly but busy. Wines and local crafted beer is great! Impressive production.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this gorgeous winery/brewery! The venue itself is "knock your socks off" beautiful with sweeping vistas of the Virginia mountains, sprawling hardscapes, fountains, and lovely internal spaces. As you pull up to the Tasting Room, you are impressed with the lovely building itself blending naturally with its environment and landscaping with amazing attention to detail! The ladies that greeted us were friendly and efficient, seating us immediately and sending our first glass of wine directly to the table. The wait staff was impecable! Their manners, knowledge

I give it 3 stars only because the view is phenomenal. We must have hit a "bad day" with our server because she was not very friendly and acted like we were putting her out to serve us. I realize that a party of 6 can add stress to anyone but we were quite the fun loving bunch after going to 4 wineries before this one. None of us were impressed by the wine flights. The beer flight was given a B+. We will try it again to see if the next experience is better but not for awhile.
