Services
Crafting the finest Virginia estate wines is our passion and our purpose. Pippin Hill is delighted to partner with Michael Shaps of Virginia Wineworks to oversee our boutique-scale production. After harvesting at their prime, our grapes go through "Custom Crush" processing-the initial crush, quality evaluation, stainless and French Oak barrel fermentation, blending, filtering and bottling.
We believe that sustainably grown, locally sourced food and wine tastes better and is better for you, and for our environment and local economy. Seasonal, fresh, organic, imaginative-that's our recipe. Pure and simple. Pippin Hill's vineyard, garden, farm and kitchen are seamlessly interwoven. We tend our vines in tandem with growing fresh herbs and vegetables, and Pippin Hill menus and products are inspired by our wines and vines.
Entertaining and gastronomy are in the heart and soul of Executive Chef Ian Rynecki, and sustainable, local sourcing is his passion. Inspired by the bounty of Pippin Hill's carefully cultivated kitchen gardens, Ian creates a parade of plates deliciously aligned with our vineyard-to-table concept. A native of Simsbury, Connecticut, Ian comes from a long line of good cooks.
We host stunning weddings year-round at Pippin Hill, taking advantage of our various indoor/outdoor venues, depending on the weather. Our facilities are versatile and accommodating, designed to maximize spring and summer's open-air freshness and fall and winter's crisp light and cozy warmth. There's no such thing as a "standard wedding menu" at Pippin Hill.
Pippin Hill offers magical views and distinctive venues worthy of your vows. The serene vistas of the Blue Ridge foothills and our undulating vineyards create an unforgettable backdrop for your wedding. Custom designed by renowned event and wedding planner, Lynn Easton of Easton Events, Pippin Hill's four unique venues offer everything needed to host an intimate wedding of 100 guests or a larger celebration for 200 people.

Gorgeous grounds and views. Beautiful barn buildings with great decor and ambiance. Welcoming staff. Appealing small menu. Great food: well made, nice presentation, high quality, tasty. Fun table side wine tasting (Covid adapting): small vials containing the wine. Better wine glasses would do more justice to their wines instead of the clunky wine glasses that they use.

Decided to have a road trip there for a guided wine tour. My guest and I arrived 10 minutes early and were told to basically explore the area until our 1 pm reservation. Since they combine tour reservations, the other party arrived about 15 to 20 minutes late and we had to start late as well so the wine company maximized it profit and staff time. After driving 3 hours to get to Pippin, I was not expecting a forced delayed start. The guided tour and historical lesson were okay and quick because it was a bit chilly outside. When we received the bill, there’s automatic gratuity (I had a party of

So much to love. Location (gorgeous), food (delicious), ambiance, and options of indoor/outdoor dining. They also do a great job managing the parking.
What I didn't like was being charged $36 for a "selection of meat and cheese" charcuterie tray (the outdoor pick up and go option) that included 2 sleeves of crackers, ONE cheese (Gouda) in a store-bought package, another store-bought package of 3 meats, and a tiny single serve container of peach jam which was not enough to share. ??! Our friends paid $15 for plenty of hummus, crackers, and fresh cut veggies artfully arranged in a take out box.

Pippin Hill Farms provides a beautiful place to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in an amazing view! A few things to know before you go:
If you want dinner, make reservations a month in advance.
They rent pop up tents for shade ($25/hr).
The frose (frozen rose wine) is absolutely delicious and borders on dangerously good on a hot day!
Bring a blanket and people you like and get ready for a wonderful afternoon!

A charming escape into the countryside. The atmosphere is the most inviting you’ll find anywhere - live folksy music, wide open spaces, and plenty of dining inside or out. I was expecting that the food would be a half-effort and afterthought, but i was pleasantly surprised that it was delicious and held its own. I particularly recommend the sliders. They have pairing notes between their wines and entrees and I’m glad I took advantage of them. Take a walk around the property after food and drink, and enjoy the idyllic scenery.

I can't give enough stars to this pretty little winery that sits in its own valley! Everything from the friendly greeting, gorgeous landscapes, excellent food, efficient service, relaxing ambience, and, of course, top-notch wine! My wife and I made reservations for an outdoor table, which is the way to go since it offers some protection from both rain and sun. We didn't try every wine, but we tried the 4 Pippin Whites and 4 Reserve Flight Wine tastings. All were very good, with a few quite sublime and sophisticated. The Farm part of PH was evident in their food. We had a nice hummus and very fresh

Giving a 4 due to wine which is good to very good. The blending that they do with their wines seems to dilute body and add sweetness. Not a fan of sweet or semi sweet wines. Regardless I would not turn down a bottle or glass for most of their wines if offered.
The atmosphere is amazing with the well done facility/grounds and fantastic views. Perfect place to relax while sitting or walking the grounds. Food was excellent. The automatic addition of a 20% tip for a party of 2 was a bit unconventional even though I would have tipped at least 20% regardless.
