As a healthcare provider and homebirth mother, i wanted to expand local maternity options to include homebirths attended by Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM). While there are multiple CPM practices that offer homebirth services, Loudoun Homebirth & Healthcare is the only Nurse Midwifery practice in Loudoun.
Our approach is a safe, cost effective, and convenient choice for women to experience normal pregnancy and birth, and personalized well-woman care. Services
The founding of Loudoun Homebirth & Healthcare is a dream come true. We are finally able to offer the personalized level of care that women and their families deserve, and current research supports. Our team of midwives and nurses have been involved in maternal and infant health for over 20 years, and have often been required to work and counsel within a medical system that is unable to provide holistic care or offer "continuity of care."
Loudoun Homebirth & Healthcare supports you and your partner in your decisions to allow birth to unfold on it's own time, in it's own manner. A healthy, low risk woman, experiencing a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy should go on to have a normal, physiological birth. Interventions are wonderful tools when they are needed, and having a provider that applies any intervention judiciously, contributes to the best outcomes for the mother and the baby.
We believe in the ability of a woman's body to birth and a baby's body to transition to earthside life in a natural progression that is empowering to the mother and her partner. We do not judge a woman's preference of how or where she wants to labor and give birth and do not discriminate against any situation which may lead to different birth experience than she was anticipating.

We will provide a full list of service fees and explain payment options. For homebirths there is a one-time global fee. This single fee covers all prenatal visits, lab collections, your birth, any medications that might be needed during labor, and all of your postpartum visits.
Hilary was everything we were looking for in a midwife. My husband and I are very self-reliant by nature, and during our pregnancy and birth that was a quality we really wanted to focus on. Without hesitation or visible concern, Hilary let me take the lead during and after James' birth. She trusted me to know exactly what I wanted and needed for myself, as well as for my son.

We wanted a natural birth for our first child and it didn't go that way. So, for our second child, we wanted to do all that would be humanly possible to make that happen. We also wanted the experience of being in our home with our first born close by and the peace that comes during and after birth while being in your home. LH&H helped us make our dream birth possible! They spent time with us, were validating, informative, patient, knowledgeable, experts and in a way, became a part of our family. We will never forget them!

Five stars is just insufficient to give due credit to Hilary and Heather. From the moment they entered our home, my wife (and myself by extension) was immediately at ease. They were professional, knowledgeable, kind, and provided such a personal level of care that you simply cannot get outside of your own home. This carried over from the checkups to the delivery. My wife was constantly given a level of personal care that only someone with vast experience and a kind heart can give. My birthing story was wild from start to finish- Hilary and Andrea took us on even though I spent 36.5 weeks in California- my midwives there were also amazing and accommodating to my unique situation. I had a Monday morning delivery and Hilary made it- made it in time to calm me down, coach me, love me- and bring my beautiful baby girl Earth-side. Andrea was more than an assistant! She provided an aftercare appointment and even coached us through the early days of breastfeeding. It’s a very emotional time, but Hilary and her team will elevate your birthing experience and I will recommend all

Around the time of my children’s birthdays, I always become reflective. Reflective of my experience being pregnant, their birth story, and their time being part of our family so far.
