Ilara has over 20 years of experience in optometry. She graduated from the PA College of Optometry and completed a residency with local MD's in a busy practice (including a retinal specialist and a cataract surgeon).
In addition, she was an Associates Professor at New England College of Optometry. Dr. Donarum is passionate about serving the underserved. She has participated in missions to Mexico providing eye exams and glasses to over 2,000 in need. She worked in a clinic that offered in-home eye care to amputees and the disabled.

Very friendly and very thorough. I went in to get fitted for contacts. They gave me a prescription, some sample lenses, and set up a follow up appointment. I lost one of my samples and they gave me a new one no problem. It is a far cry from my previous experiences with other eye doctors who just try to sell me some overpriced frames and get me out the door.
Also - they are taking covid precautions very seriously, which I appreciate.

When I moved here I needed to find a new eye doctor and didn’t want to go to some big chain. I drove by the little West End Eye Care and thought I would give them a try.... best decision! The team is just outstanding. I never feel rushed and they make everything so easy.
They added some new COVID plexiglass and a hand sanitizer station inside. This operation is a great example of things done right.
