Before Mayo Family Eye Care, Dr. Karl Erdmann owned the practice at 191 High Street for 30 years, providing eye care to generations of families. He was known for his genuine and caring personality. In 2016, Dr. Erdmann retired to spend more time with his family and handed the practice off to Dr. Sabrina Mayo.
Regular eye exams are an invaluable tool in maintaining healthy eyes by detecting and preventing disease. Some diseases develop slowly without causing pain or vision loss. Early detection of any problems can reduce the risk of further harm and allow for a choice of treatment options. The entire exam process can take an hour depending on the complexity of the problem.
It is the patient's responsibility to confirm eligibility and insurance benefits prior to the appointment. Unfortunately, we do not accept Eyemed/Blue View Vision/Anthem Blue Cross Pathways, Aetna, Humana, Tufts, Ambetter, Superior Vision, Davis Vision, Wellcare, Allways HMO, United Healthcare Vision, Spectera Vision, Granite State Advantage or other Medicaid plans other than New Hampshire Healthy Families and Well sense.

I was completely misdiagnosed with a fairly serious condition, which cased stress and further appointments elsewhere but, thankfully, completely misdiagnosed. The glasses fitting guy couldn't be bothered and acted annoyed I was there as a customer. Having no confidence with the clinical ability combined with the bad customer service, I won't step foot back at this eye office, nor would I feel good about recommending at all.

I am "on on the dole" with state insurance and they treat me so kind and respectfully with professionalism. They have really nice assortment of frames for people on government insurance. Also, I had a hard time adjusting to the frames and they took extra time to check it out and adjust them. And now they feel great! I LOVE the new frames that the worker helped me choose. He has really good taste. The office has undergone a big expansion and looks really nice. Nice, modern, comfortable, respectful staff.

New to the area and really needed some new contacts. The staff here got me in the same week which was awesome. I had expected to be dilated this appt but will be going back for a dilated exam, as the appt was only for a 30 min slot. Good to know! Dr. Mayo was bright and professional. I have particularly terrible eyes and she really took her time with me getting the prescription right. Very happy to have found her.
