Cataract procession is a process that occurs in the eyes natural lens. When we are young, the lens is a clear structure, as we age, the lens becomes more cloudy. This cloudy lens can cause the vision to appear blurry, hazy, and less colorful. It may also cause and increase in glare, especially with nighttime driving.
Your eyes are important. Here at West Eye Associates, it is our goal to keep your vision clear and maintain good ocular health. Eye diseases can cause permanent changes in your vision or even long-term health issues if left unchecked. The American Optometric Association recommends an eye exam every year to monitor for any visual or health changes.
A prescription for glasses only looks at the way light is refracted into your eyes. Contact lens prescriptions include much more necessary information. In addition to your eyes ability to refract, we must identify the proper curvature, diameter, thickness, and material of the contact lens to gives you healthy and comfortable vision.

Very kind and friendly staff. Very knowledgeable with high attention to detail. For instance they asked about my typical daily use of glasses so they could customize the prescription by slightly reducing correction for far-sight so the glasses didn't effect my near sight. I also specified I wanted the glasses to be light, so they explained that different styles of glasses effect the overall shape of the lens, so glasses I thought were lighter would actually have been heavier. They guided me toward glasses that met all my specific needs. Thanks WEA

I have been going to Dr West since 2004. He is very professional and knowledgeable. I originally saw him in the Carlisle office until he opened a practice in Mechanicsburg. The office staff always helpful and amazing. You will never be disappointed.
