Everything about the Home Inspection business resonates with who I am and what I enjoy most. I love the challenge of going somewhere new each day, uncovering the minute details that make up a home's inner workings, and not knowing in advance what I might discover. Then, I get to communicate my findings with my clients, whether they be realtors or homeowners, in a way they can understand and make informed decisions.
We take pride in helping customers in the Greater Boston area. Our home inspection services menu has been developed to assist buyers, sellers, and brokers with every step of the process. We also offer specialty services for small condominium associations and existing owners who aren't currently planning to sell their home.

We hired JBS Home Inspections to do a Common Area (roof, basement, exterior) inspection of our six-family condominium building in Cambridge, because we are self-managed and not well-versed in the upkeep of a 100-year-old building; we couldn't be happier with our decision!

Alex was the top recommendation of our realtor, herself quite capable and experienced. My three-unit condo association hired Alex to inspect our 110-year-old building, and we’re so glad we did! We knew the building needed some repairs, and wanted helping prioritizing those as well as getting a sense of what else might be on the horizon. Alex was great—thoughtful and professional and a good communicator. He was very thorough, especially in the basement, where he gave us an educational tour of the building’s systems and discovered (uh oh) some active knob-and-tube wiring. Alex arrived early for our appointment to inspect the outside of the house before I arrived. He was thorough and methodic and walked me through each of his findings in plain English to make it easy for someone unfamiliar with house maintenance to understand. He also offered suggestions for mitigations for some of the items identified. As a first-time homeowner, he very patiently showed me how to work the various systems in the house and answered all my questions. There are many out there who claim to offer similar services but all blind references pointed me to Alex with glowing reviews. Very happy with Alex's thorough house inspection. He pointed out almost everything that needed fixing whether it was a potential issue or a minor fix he covered them all! We were glad to know that the house was in great condition after the inspection. We received a thorough report with photos almost immediately after the inspection in which helped us plan accordingly. We recently had an offer accepted on a newly-renovated condominium in Cambridgeport. Alex and his team were highly recommended. Alex came highly recommended by my real estate agent and didn't disappoint. He was extremely thorough, answered all my questions and pointed out all of the important areas that I might want to know about in the future (main shut offs for water, gas, etc). I hired JBS to do an inspection on a home I had agreed to purchase. Alex was recommended to me by my realtor and I was initially hesitant to go with him as that could be a possible conflict of interest. Fortunately for me, I trusted my realtor instead of my gut and hired Alex.

I recently used JBS inspections to come do an inspection of a house my husband and I are purchasing. Alex was very thorough, spending nearly 3 hours going over each floor of the house. I was particularly concerned about the state of the foundation and basement, and Alex spent a LOT of time in there pointing out things that should be fixed, what is a safety concern and what is not. His patience and friendliness during the whole process was an added bonus. He also presented me with a book on how to take care of our home at the end as well as emailed me a 90 page document that detailed what he found

I hired JBS to do a deep inspection on a new home we were interested in purchasing. The process was very well done and JBS did far more digging, crawling and poking around than I've seen other inspectors do. Little things like power/ground testing every single interior/exterior power outlet etc. etc.
They also get huge props for being "modern" relative to other old school firms - you get an actual PDF document complete with embedded pictures showing exactly what they are talking about. They were responsive to follow-up questions about issues seen as well.

We had JBS perform our home inspection on Friday and we were VERY happy. Alex was super thorough (side note, also genuinely nice guy), and his report that he sent later in the day was equally thorough with pictures and notes on each issue discussed. While the home had quite a few issues, we now feel better moving forward with the purchase knowing that we understand the complexities of this house.

I purchased my first home and had it inspected by JBS Home Inspections. The inspector who came was super nice but I am disappointed that after moving into the home to discover that the windows didn't work properly. She had inspected all the windows and did not find anything wrong with them but when I opened the windows for the first time, they didn't close. Two other windows also weren't sealed completely so there is condensation build up. These are major issues and I don't know how to fix them since I live in a condo and will need to get work permits to block off the side walk
