A compassionate family owned business. When my son died they were truly a comfort to my wife and I. No problems with them. The only thing was that the refrigerator was working in the freezer but not in the cabinet in the apartment. And the rent was too high for him. Otherwise a great property rental company

I lived in an apartment owned by C.R. O’Neil for the past year. I found they were responsive to service requests, easy to contact, and their prices reasonable. And I wanted to share this customer service experience I just had with their office staff upon turning in my apartment key (decided to go with an apartment that has more amenities this upcoming year, not due to the company themselves). I turned in my key 3 days ago and later that same evening, I realized I left my best friend’s wedding flowers hanging to dry in the closet of my old apartment after I spent the whole day cleaning. DO NOT RENT FROM C.R. O NEIL. I have dealt with 4 different property managers over my life and CR. O NEIL IS THE WORST. Maintenance requests took a MINIMUM of 4 months to repair anything. After weeks of trying to get a response I had to drive to the office because CR O NEIL would not return calls or emails. When they finally repaired the issue, the job was such a joke I ended up repairing it myself. This was just 1 of many serious issues (water leaks, non working electrical, ect ect)

Not a good property management company at all! Warning to all property owners looking to rent: this place will be happy to take your money, and use any excuse to get it, invoicing you for any and all things they deem "necessary". It'll get to the point where you won't see rent for SEVERAL months!! Oh, and forgot to mention that I had contact with my last renters before I sold, and they were complaining about them not doing essential work for them! I was FURIOUS! This company is a mixed bag. Their rent portal system was easy to use and maintenance requests were timely. However, the people working in the office are unorganized, rude, and rarely have answers to questions. They also have pretty draconian move-out rules and like to throw legalese at you in response to reasonable requests. Fortunately the actual owner of the property we rented was a great guy and kept the place up.

Dealt with a realtor from this company that was totally unprofessional, unethical, and lost me and family 4 different deals with houses that we chose. We spent the better half of a month convincing the realtor for our dream home to take the house of the market just so we could close not to become HOMELESS!! I reached out to the owner of this company and I haven't heard from him since!! I'm so over this realty group and the realtor will be hearing from our attorney.

I was reading Catalina's review about the secretary (Patty) and could not agree more. And O'Neil's response could not be further from the truth. They will never address the issue, because she has been there for years with many complaints. They will defend her all day long. I do not recommend renting from this company by any means. I'm giving 2 stars only because the maintenance team was great, but I could not have been happier to be done with that lease!

I’m not sure yet about this company. I’ve lost 70% of trust so far and I’ve yet to sign a lease. This company will not accept my OSU service dog because it’s not specifically MY service dog, but simply a registered service animal. Instead of accepting the dog as a service dog, they’ve made me pay the deposit and additional pet fees. When I submitted my deposit, I also submitted a substantial portion of the rent that I now cannot get back if I do not sign the lease as the application states all monies are forfeited if the lease doesn’t get signed. This company told me I could move in

What can't I say about this company. Whole place is falling apart.
1. Owner had smart idea remove a section of wall in the master bedroom and refuse to put it back up.
2. After renewing ask was there any new changing to the lease they said no so when we tried to change residents they said it'll be $100 change out fee plus $25 application fee.
3. Maintenance crew is awesome group of guys, when the company let them actually do their job.

As a property owner, working with this company has been a horrible experience and has only made the process of renting my condo incredibly stressful. The managers lack basic communication skills. I was informed that a tenant was approved for rental and would be moving in soon. Weeks start to roll around-heard nothing from the company about updates with the tenant, clarification on payments so I called only to find out that the tenant decided not to move in. NO ONE from the company contacted me with this information-no call, no email, nothing. It has now been almost 6 months-no renter yet. Aside

They get no rating from me. I just had to give them one in order to continue.
I just became a tenant and cannot wait until my year is up. They do not return phone calls, they do not return emails. They do NOTHING but sit in the office and watch paint dry.
I have followed up on issues with my place for 30+ days and that includes phone calls, emails etc. Patty? Really? You don't answer or return calls? You think people are just going to go away and not follow up? That's how you do business? That's how you represent a company?

I don't know how appropriate this review is because my experiences with CR O'Neil are admittedly limited, so flag it if you feel it isn't a valid enough experience of the business.
The bulk of my experiences with CR O'Neil stem from their listing fact sheets that they plaster all over their windows. I lived in Clintonville for three years, and during that time I would always, always, always stop by their offices to look at the real estate listings and apartment listings posted. It was a really good way to see what the market was doing and if/when good apartments were opening
