Just bought a new 15 HP Merc Outboard from Great American Marine. You WON'T find a better price...but more important...you WON'T find better customer service before and after the sale anywhere! I was looking for a help on a leak repair kit for an orange colored Metzler dingy. John Snow (not of Game of Thrones) replied in email that:
"I forgot what the fabric was so I called my source. He said that Metzler was made of hypalon but transitioned to PVC in the 1980's.
You can test it 2 ways.
1) Wipe the fabric with MEK. If orange comes off it is PVC
2) Sand a small area with sandpaper or a scuffing stone. If you develope orange dust it is hypalon-if it just grooves and dulls the fabric it is PVC. Look for the dust.
This response makes up for the terse treatment I received
