At Little Scholars Preschool, we provide an enriched themed, play-based curriculum that is developed by the needs, skills, and interests of our children. Our day consists of free choice and teacher planned activities that are designed to foster social, emotional, cognitive, literacy, language, and physical developments. Our curriculum centers provide shared and independent learning opportunities in math, science, literacy, block exploration, sensory discovery, dramatic play, and creative arts.
Services
We provide a flexible daily schedule in a combined classroom for children ages 3 through 5. Our program is open to all children. Our Pre-K 3's will spend the year developing their social skills, independence, and problem-solving skills. The children will learn to express their ideas and feelings through various creative experiences.
We provide a weekly yoga program for all students. Children will learn beginning poses, partner poses, and meditation. Yoga classes will often be related to our curriculum theme. Mrs. DiMascio, an LSP teacher, is also a licensed yoga instructor and teaches the weekly class. Children's yoga provides many benefits for the developing child.
Our agriculture program begins with a themed farm unit. This unit will teach the children about animals, fruits/vegetables, and the important role of a farmer. Throughout the year, Farmer D, will come to our classroom and provide a planting activity that may include herbs, flowers, and vegetables. They will learn about the growing process and how to take care of their seedlings and plants.
I have had the privilege of being the Director and Head Teacher of Little Scholars Preschool since 2016. I received my A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from Gateway Community College and my B.S. degree in Child Development from Charter Oak State College. With over 21 years experience in the early childhood field, I was granted the opportunity to work with children from infants to Kindergarten.

Report
I highly recommend Little Scholars Preschool! My oldest will be graduating there this May, my middle will be going in the fall, and my littlest will without a doubt attend as well. My middle currently attends a different preschool due to the 3 cutoff and I am so excited for him to be a part of the LSP family. Having knowledge of another school, really makes me appreciate here that much more. When looking for preschools for our first, it was such an overwhelming experience but after meeting the teachers and touring the school I had no doubt in my mind we found the right match. Right off the bat
