Established in 1998, John Boekenoogen transformed his family's fifth generation cattle ranch into a vineyard producing outstanding grapes and now very fine wine. John's Great Grandfather, George Boekenoogen, came across the United States in covered wagons in search of gold in the late 1850's.

Boekenoogen Vineyard was established in 1997 when John Boekenoogen realized his property's true potential. He took his cattle ranch that has been in the family for five generations and transformed it into a vineyard which produces exceptionally high quality wine grapes.
John developed all phases of the vineyard: from ground preparation, rootstock, clone selection, trellising, pruning, and shoot positioning to canopy management, color thinning, and irrigation.

Our wines are estate grown and produced from our family Vineyard and Winery in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands and Carmel Valley Appellations. Assortment of Estate red and white wines hand selected by Garrett Boekenoogen, Winemaker, Vineyard Manger.
Our Carmel Valley Tasting Room is open from 11am to 5pm Daily. Please come visit us at 24 W. Carmel Valley Road in the Village in beautiful Carmel Valley.
With a rustic quant interior setting and a beautiful outdoor garden patio in the front and a deck patio in the back, our Tasting Room will put anyone in the mood for tasting some of the Santa Lucia Highlands finest Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays as well as Cabernet, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Syrah and Viognier from our Carmel Valley Estate Vineyards.
