Bunter Spring has resumed tasting room operations. Our Carmel Valley tasting room is open Friday through Sunday 11-5 PM. We are open the rest of the week by appointment. Since we work often in Napa, at the winery and vineyard, we are not always available, so please call in advance if possible. Your hosts are fully vaccinated.
The tasting fee is $20 per person for six wines, with crackers and cheese. The tasting fee is waived with a two bottle purchase. Tasting is free to wine club members as per our Wine Club policy. Call Mark at (202) 744-1343 for an appointment. We would love to see you!. Our Carmel Valley tasting room remains closed to the public.

Services
Bunter Spring Winery is a small family operated winery in the Coombsville AVA in the southeast corner of Napa Valley. We make small-lot wines for sale to friends on our mailing list and to a few restaurants and wine shops. Our wines made with few or no additives, and low or no sulfite. Bunter Spring was licensed in 2008, by Mark Bunter, after a brief (thirty years) internship in the wine cellars of people with names like Sebastiani and Mondavi.
At Bunter Spring, we strive to make wines that are delicious, interesting, and unique, using as few additives and preservatives as possible. We are convinced wine made this way not only causes fewer headaches, hangovers, and bad reactions, it also tastes better! Balance is of utmost importance. That means a pleasant and harmonious combination of alcohol/ sweetness, acidity, and astringency/tannin.
Because of the expense of state alcohol licenses and compliance filing, and our aversion to incarceration, we don't ship to all states. Please contact us to find out if we can ship to you. We love to take orders and ship wine. We like to do business personally, and look forward to your visit, call or email, and a chance to discuss your order with you.
Our 2019 continues the series of standout wines from this vineyard, which we began using in 2014. Barrel fermented and aged six months in older "neutral" French barrels. Totally dry, light-bodied, tart, with subtle aromas of citrus, nectarine, and dried grass. This wine was literally made for oysters on the half-shell.
Wine is ultimately dependent upon its raw material. All the essential and most interesting qualities of a fine wine come from the vineyard. Winemaking is important, but the grapes trump all. Vineyard location is everything. The variety planted there, how it is farmed, the vintage's weather, and timing of harvest determine the nature of the wine.

Nice little stop in Carmel Valley Ranch featuring no additive, sulphite-free wines. The owner, Mark, is extremely friendly and personable and most days is the one-person operation running the tasting room. He's happy to share with you in great detail his winemaking philosophy and history of the releases he's prying for you. Tastings are a very reasonable $10 for 6x1 oz pours, which is waived if you purchase even one bottle. We enjoyed the Fume Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Primitivo blend.

Mark provided a fabulous tasting experience! The wines were delicious and he offered information about the wines and answered all of our questions. He has a small tasting room with a very personal feel. Very well priced and if you buy a bottle he will waive the tasting fee. Most importantly, Mark was awesome, the vibe of the room was relaxed and happy, and we had a great time drinking good wine and learning about the wine-making process!

What a treat! Wandered in on a Sunday afternoon for a great conversation and lots of cute pups to play with our dog. Great friendly and local vibe. There is an impressive range of wines ranging from local Monterey grapes to Paso and Napa. We picked up a few bottles and would recommend it as a stop :)

Truly a gem of a winery, spent a couple hours there chatting with the owner and his wife, who kept opening new bottles for me to try. Most of the wines were excellent, which made it hard to decide what to get. I visited a total of 10+ wineries in the Village over a few days, a this was easily the most memorable stop with the best tasting wines.

Five star visit for sure - unexpected combination of great wines, fantastic service and experience. We visited New Year's Day, the last stop, having visited two other very underwhelming wineries. They blew us away.
Bunter is very educated on all things wine - and shares them in a fun relevant way - not simply reading rote details off the tasting card. We have tasted wines all over California for many years and came away having learned some very new and interesting details about wine and the industry.
We also came away with a couple cases of wine - their Primavero is very good, as are their

Bunter springs had a delicious tasting flight, ranging from fruit filled whites to full bodied reds, ending with a nice sweet Chardonnay.
We were the only people in the tasting room and had a nice time chatting with the friendly winemaker. We bought a few bottles and after leaving, discussed how it was the best flight(and reasonably priced at 15-30$ a bottle) that we have seen in Carmel valley. Wine tasting fee waived if you buy a bottle

Our first time in the Village for wine tasting and we stumbled upon a gem!
A unique, friendly, knowledgeable, and neighborly experience. We hung out and chatted for a couple of hours! Locals dropped by while walking their dog to say "Hi" and taste a new release.
Mark (winemaker) and Margaret are very personable and make the experience memorable.
We will definitely be back!

Bunty Springs is a GREAT Addition to Carmel Valley. I noticed them while I was next door at Idle Hour, and lamented to the host on how I would have loved to check them out, but it was already almost closing time (5pm I think.) He said the owners were incredibly nice and I should pop my head in and say hi anyway. Well, boy was I glad I did!
The owners welcomed me with the biggest smiles and insisted that I do a tasting with them, regardless of how near closing time it was. They had Fabulous wine and an even better history and story. I ended up buying a bottle of their Meritage (BEST I&apos
