Since 1981, Pooh Bear Childcare has operated as the premier location for childcare in Fitchburg, WI and Middleton, WI. Locally-owned and -operated, the sole purpose of those who created and now uphold the company is geared toward the betterment and well-being of children. We strive to generate an environment where children are free to create, experiment and learn - at a comfortable yet challenging pace.

All Pooh Bear Childcare and Preschool staff work with YoungStar - "Wisconsin's Childcare Quality Rating and Improvement System" and local school districts. These programs help our staff stay up-to-date and implement proven childcare practices into our lesson plans. This also ensures all of our teachers are consistent across all of our classrooms.

We had two of our children at Middleton Poor Bear since infancy all the way through graduation. It is very affordable (compared to other daycares/preschools in the area), yet very high quality! We explored all other centers on the west side of Madison and Pooh Bear is an absolute winner! The best part about it is teachers. We haven't had a single teacher who wasn't just outstanding! We always felt comfortable leaving our babies in there. They were very well cared for. All teacher are incredibly kind, patient, loving and devoted. Horrible experience here, I speak from personal experience... I’m 18 now but when I was 4 I went to this pre school and now thinking about it, I am considering legal measures! This school maltreated all their kids ... i remember saying like a normal kid “i want my mom, when is she coming” and the lunatic nannies or whatever their petty job title is called, would put me in the time out room and taunt me by saying stuff like “your mom is never going to come!!!” in a very snotty voice, highly recommend strapping a video camera on your children because what these people did to me was inhumane

I had all three of my children attend this pooh bear and I have had nothing but great experiences. All of my children really enjoyed their years at pooh bear, everyone has always been friendly and professional. My oldest child started pooh bear when she was two, now is fourteen in high school and she still has good memories of teachers and friend's she made there. My son came as an infant untill kindergarten and I curently have a three year old enrolled which also started as an infant. We truly love this pooh bear and I would definitely recommend.

We live in Madison, WI (I don't know why yelp says California). My family has been extremely happy with Pooh Bear Childcare. When our daughter started, her first week was tough on the entire family. The teachers at Pooh Bear made it so much easier. They would call and give us updates on how she was doing and as new parents that gave us peace of mind. They are kind and loving and it makes all the difference in the world. I feel they go above and beyond.

We absolutely love Pooh Bear Childcare. My son attended Pooh bear for only 18 months because we moved out of state for work. We adored the experienced and caring staff. They go above and beyond to take care of all the children, which kept my mind at ease after having my first child. The environment for children is very positive and stimulating. Additionally, the staff is more than willing to customize your child's care by incorporating things such as sign language, etc. I highly recommend Pooh Bear to any family looking for high quality care!!

Love pooh bear at the Fitchburg location. My daughter has been going since she was 15 months old. The teachers are super and the administration knows their stuff. I always feel welcomed. Most of their teachers have been there for a long time and their kiddos love them! I also like their philosophy of lots of outdoor time.

I've had both my children at this center. The organization and staff is very consistent. The teachers are all friendly and willing to accommodate special requests. They are also helpful when dealing with special situations or behavioral issues. All classes do a lot of learning and free-play, and rarely watch TV. I feel my children are well cared for at Pooh Bear.
