Services
Founded in 1991 by Jerry Block and Chip Gerken, Crossroads Trading was one of the first to pioneer the idea of secondhand clothing as an alternative to traditional retail. Many years and stores later, their vision of providing communities with a better way to shop continues to be a guiding force in company decision-making.
Crossroads requires all unvaccinated customers and employees to wear masks while in our stores. Where it is required by local ordinances, customers and employees are still required to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. We evaluate and price clothing on the spot and you'll receive either cash or trade right away.
For 30 years, Crossroads has been spreading the word that secondhand clothing is the sustainable fashion option. Selling and shopping secondhand gives clothing a second (or third!) life and decreases the production demand for new clothing. This reduced demand means reduced carbon, water and waste footprints.

I like Crossroads. I like their inventory--especially exceptional shoes! Great prices. I am a reseller and when I have inventory that isn't getting enough play on eBay or depop I take it to crossroads for very generous store credit! As far as having to wait when selling, yes they are busy, but if you call ahead they will tell you what kind of wait you're looking at.
The buyers have always been friendly and helpful. I have never seen anyone of any age or race treated rudely!
Thank you guys! I seriously have agoraphobia, but the staff at Crossroads manage to make it a good experience

Still 5/5 stars.

I don't shop here as much as I used to BUT here is my FOURTH selling experience.

I'll keep it short:
1. I brought in lululemon, Nike, madewell, Jcrew, athleta, free people
2. Many were still new with tag because I have a shopping problem
3. I had to wait over an hr. I wrote my name down, ran errands, came back later
4. They bought 1/4 of the items and I got over $100 in trade or $88 in cash

I go in there knowing that whatever they don't want I will be donating to goodwill down the street. I'm not there to make a profit. If they buy it cool, if they don

Everyone was so nice. I loved being able to go in and immediately find a bunch of amazingly cute outfits and heals. Really gave me such a big smile. I'm so coming back to crossroads every time.

First let me say that everyone in the store was friendly with me. That said, the selling experience was fairly disappointing. I came in and signed up, and they told me it'd be about an hour. I browsed for awhile, waited, and was never called. I had to leave but they told me to leave my name on the list to come back later. (But take my stuff with me.) About 2.5 hours later, I got a text that it was my turn. Of course, I wasn't in the area any more, but they said I could come back anytime the same day, so I came back a few hours after that. They took me in after about 15 minutes since my

Bad customer service and racist!!! Me and my husband walked in and had question regarding an item placed behind their counter so my husband asked one of the worker on the floor if she can look for someone to help me because I've been standing there for about 15-20 minutes and nobody even look at me for assistance and the lady worker says 'No' not even a sorry 'No'.
After that, we walked out and left the CrossRoad' store.
They shouldn't be open for business with that kind of attitude of their employees.

They absolutely do **not** buy men's clothing no matter what their ads claim. Matter of fact, they do not sell men's clothing either! Among the things I brought in were a brand new pair of jeans with the tags still on them & did not want them! Did not see a single men's garment in the entire store! Guess that explains why they did not want any of the clothes I took in to sell!

They bought most to all of my clothes! I don't know why everyone has such bad reviews for this place. Most of them sound pretty bitter about the fact that they didn't buy their clothes lol. Not to be mean but maybe the clothes that these people brought in is what the stores are not looking for. Just because it's "name brand" doesn't mean it's cute lmao.

Anyway, I had great service and all the employees were extremely nice to me! Excited to clean out my closet again and come back here

Definitely sticking to Freestyle clothing exchange for trading, Freestyle gives you 40% cash or 50% store credit when trading and will actually take your clothes, and also have better clothes in their stores. Crossroads only offers 30% cash or 40% store credit and they make you sign this whole contract thing. Also their clothes are just completely overpriced, for a couple more dollars I'd rather just buy the item brand new. Go to a real thrift store

I was 2nd in line and had just tried to check in. My boyfriend and I, who are both fully vaccinated, forgot about the mask mandate that was just reinstalled and an associate told us, "Hi, do you have a mask? We aren't going to come up to you unless you get one". We understand the point but the comment was a little much. I said yes from across the store, apologized, then proceeded to pull out masks from my purse and she continued to what felt like pressure and rush us.

We waited while our items were being checked to sell. They only took 6 out of almost 150 items-- all of which were

Honestly, just sell your stuff on poshmark or mercari. This place always has such long wait. Last week I came in to return a pair of shoes. While browsing I found a few items to try on. The sales associate told me she would hold the shoes for me while I tried on the items. When I came out, the associate misplaced the shoes and couldn't find them. She asked another associate of help her look for them. I ended up finding them tucked away on a random shelf. Just not a good experience. She apologized a ton and it was ok in the end as I was able to return the item and get a refund. However, I have

I tried selling clothes for the first time - many of my items were either unused or from high end brands. When the lady called my name to sell I told her it was my first time selling and didn't know how it worked and she just said "I'll call you when I'm done looking". So I was like okay. Since I never sold anything before I watched her go through my clothes. She was grabbing items in clumps and not even looking at what she pulled out of my bags and then put everything back in the bag. Process took about 5 minutes (about 50 items) then called me up again. She said she wouldn

I tried to sell after making an appointment and they didn't buy anything. She said the reason is because I had target and old navy. I said hummm no you must have it wrong I don't have anything from there. So she quickly opened the bag and tossed it around and said they're out of season. I have no idea what they're looking for a since they only buy cheap, old stain and torn clothes. I very passive aggressively went through the racks and handed them about ten items that were damaged. Save your money and give another local business your money. I also don't like

The prices here are TERRIBLE. I feel bad for anyone tricked into buying these items. Forever 21 and Fashion Nova items for over $15??? Is that a joke?? There is a very little price gap between already cheap items (F21) and name brands like Nike, madewell, etc. Whoever decides the prices is a scammer

There is not an option to give zero stars. Anyways, I made an appointment to consign items for the following day. "Chris" the manager was slacking on her customer service skills and told me to go elsewhere. I would have but I'm downsizing and simply want to rid my overly abundant closet of its clothes.
Anyways, I arrived the next day for my appointment and there was no hello greeting by Chris, nor was the place busy. She asked if I had an appointment, "yes I made it with you the day previous." "Are you sure you made an appointment" ... moving on. She also curtly

Went in as a buyer- was super impressed at how neat and clean everything was! Perusing the racks was super easy and I was impressed at the selection. The staff was really sweet and even though I didn't end up buying anything, I had a great time browsing. My friend ended up finding a pair of Reformation jeans for $28, and they fit her perfectly- for that price, my mind was blown. If you're looking for a more curated second hand shopping experience, Crossroads is a great option.

I went to the Crossroads Arden location with a friend last week and we had a really great experience. I set up an appointment the day before for us to sell some of our clothing and shoes. We received a warm greeting and went to the selling counter. Mary Lou was friendly, helpful and ready to answer any questions we had. My friend and I had both sold there before but this time was beyond our expectations! Wait time was just the right amount of time and she bought over 10 items of mine and my friend sold over 11. We were both satisfied with what we "traded" and went to the register. Katheryn

If you're looking to buy or sell current styles just go somewhere else! At least that's what the manager said. Lol.. Katheryn was quite rude. I model & work as a personal stylist.. I tried to let her know although people are staying home, some are still being stylish.. especially influencers. She said I can take my things somewhere else. Lol.. I've shopped at the crossroads for years in Alameda & Berkeley.. this location gives #goodwillvibes the quality of this place is so sad now, compared to how it was years ago

They don't care about anything but themselves and what money they can make! Do not sell your clothes here! Highway robbery!!

I came here for the first time to sell some clothing today. I only brought in one bag, but it contained many of the items they supposedly want, items from Everlane, Urban Outfitters, Free People, Victoria Secret, etc. They looked through the bag in front of me, which I liked, because it really stream-lined the process. I was able to hear direct feedback about my items, and it also sped things up considerably. Including the time I spent waiting, I was in and out within 30 minutes.

The woman looking through the bag frequently commented on the "great pieces," but passed on every single
