Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. I had a contact rip and my last prescription was from here. I didn't have my most recent prescription and I wanted to see the doctor to see if I could get a sample pair to hold me over until I got home. It was a rainy day and I was driving and absolutely need my contacts to see, so I could avoid an accident. I asked to see the doctor and he refused to send her out. Today Dr. Kim gave me the most thorough eye examination I have ever received. She is very attentive and great at friendly conversation and answering my questions despite how clearly busy she was. They carry a good selection of fashionable frames, korean styles, and some great budget options. Mr. Jay helped me find a pair that looks great on me and I just had to pick up a spare while I was there. Be sure to book an appointment ahead of time so you don't tire the poor doctor out as walk-ins are limited

I don’t look Korean and I usually don’t speak Korean in front of people. I’m not like my sister who tries to use her Korean to get “good” service. Nonetheless, I’ve always been treated well here. I love Dr. Kim. She is precise and so so sweet (&gentle). I’ve been helped by Jay and other staff members—they’re all sweet hearts.
I know it may be intimidating to non-Korean customers, but I promise you—they will find someone who is bilingual to make your visit pleasant. Oh, and for a mom and pop, their prices are soooo reasonable. Support small businesses!

I recently went to Gold Optometry to get my eyes checked for the first time in over a decade and to get my first pair of glasses. I was really intimidated as someone that's never worn glasses and with my wonky insurance. However, everyone that helped me was welcoming and accommodating. My appointment was running late but everyone including Dr. Michelle Kim was apologetic. I had an appointment at 11:20. Waited an hour. Final straw was when someone who had an appointment after me and came after me was seen before I was. If you look young do not come here because they won't respect you. When I walked in there were three people being helped by three workers. They workers did not look at you or acknowledge you and just made you wait. When it was finally my turn the worker kept leaving me to help other people.

Been coming here for years, and it's always a great experience with my yearly eye exams.
Dr. Michelle Kim is hands down one of the best optometrists in all of Los Angeles. She is extremely thorough and precise with your exam, and not to mention one of the nicest human beings out there. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable with all of your vision needs, but Dr. Kim is always up to date with the latest contact lens brands as well - she's simply just an expert within that field.

I had my first appointment today and it was the most pleasant experience I have ever had. I was greeted directly at the door and was given service immediately, even though I was 10 minutes early. The gentleman that helped me in the front was very thorough going over how my insurance plan worked (it's a new one) and broke down all costs up front. I ordered my glasses and they told me it will be ready in a week. I get no call from them. Thought about just walking in to pick up my glasses, but I decided to call them just in case. They say it's not ready and told me it will be ready by next week. I still do not get a call. Then I call again, and now it's finally ready.

My daughter started going here in February 2020 and I started in January 2021. Gold Optometry wants to make sure their customers are happy. A thorough job is done of checking your eyes. Any issues with your glasses they make sure when you leave your issues are resolved. Thank you Helen and Gold Optometry. Keep up the good work. One satisfied customer. My wife and I have been going to Gold Optometry for our eye exams and glasses since 2015. The staff there always treat us professionally, answer all of our questions, go through all the tests thoroughly and make sure we get the most out of our insurance.

I have found my optometrist for life! Although busy, all the staff is extremely courteous and knowledgeable. They explain everything thoroughly and in a personable way. 1st time here and everyone was very nice and welcoming. The sir/gentleman that helped me when I walked in for my appointment was genuine and welcoming. The optometrist Michelle was very nice and informative and made the eye exam fun. Chris who helped me put together my order after my exam was friendly and detailed. The visit also challenged me to channel my Korean language school lessons at church from my younger days to communicate which was great. The availability of Asian fit glasses is what saves this from being a 1-star review. The wait times to get an eye exam even with an appointment was over an hour. If you call, you get out on hold for a while. Everything kind of is less than what you expect, so if you decide to come here, be prepared and lower your expectations.

I've never gotten a chance to come here as a patient because theyre usually so packed. Thankfully due to COVID theyre appointment only so I was able to finally squeeze in! Dr. Na is very polite and knowledgeable. And Chris at the front is super helpful and friendly also. He helped me order my contacts and glasses lenses.
I've been wearing contacts and glasses for 15 years! Thats 15 consecutive years of going to the eye doctor. I'll definitely be coming here moving forward.

If I could give a medal for the standard of excellent customer service, Gold Optometry would take the gold (get it?). I have not had one bad experience in my 13 years as one of their patients. Jay, Chris and the rest of the team are patient, always willing to answer questions and will take the time to explain any insurance related or coverage questions you may have. They can remember my previous prescriptions and purchases and are willing to provide feedback on what other options I have.
