Absolutely wonderful experiences with Linwood Optical (Fort Lee location)! First-time customer/patient for prescription eyeglass lenses which I really needed due to difficulty reading as well as general loss of vision clarity and--spoiler alert--it's like I now have a new pair of eyes! Reading books is a big part of my life and so correcting my impaired vision in this regard was super-essential The moment you enter, you feel relaxed, which was important since I've never worn prescription eyeglasses before. Dr. Paul (as my kids call him : ) is not just a gifted optometrist, he and his staff are the most warm, kind and patient people we've ever met. Because of Dr. Paul, my boys no longer have trepidation about eye exams. In fact, they love going to the eye doctor now!!! My older son, hurt his eye last year, and Dr. Shahinian and his staff went far and beyond to both see and treat him immediately!!! 5 Stars for the best family eye care practice!!!

My husband and I went to linwood Optical on Friday around noon. We just saw the rating ...no one recommended. We needed new glasses as our numbers had changed. We told the optician what we wanted. Just as he was about to show us the frames a gentleman walked in.. wanted to know if his glasses were ready and why wasn't he informed. This is the second time. He was upset and loud. The optician went to the box took out his order and started to attend to him. We kept quiet thinking its just a pickup. But then the adjustments started.. The customer looked at us and said sorry but he won't take long.

I have been seeing them for years with my entire family. They are the very definition of how it should work. Visited the Fort Lee location today at around 4pm and the service was impeccable! I had called earlier in the day to ask if adjustments could be made on a pair of my sunglasses and dental loupes. The gentleman (I didn't get his name..) that answered the call and ultimately assisted me when I arrived was professional, kind, and thorough. And I couldn't have been happier with the service! I call Dr Shahinian the “Eye Whisperer.” There is no eye issue he can’t solve or explain in clear layman terms. He has given me the most meticulous, comprehensive exams I have ever had over the decades. I was unable to wear progressive lenses until Dr. Shahinian prescribed and had them made. Now, following cataract surgery, he has created a perfect progressive prescription that enables me as a piano teacher to read the fine print of piano music at close and mid-range with unbelievable clarity. They literally rescued my holiday! The first morning of my vacation I reached for my contact lenses only to find I have brought double for my left eyes and none for my right! This had the potential to make for a long and uncomfortable holiday. But after speaking to Dr. Shahinian's assistant, Arilys, it was determined that replacements could be gotten to me by the next day before 12 Noon!
I have been a happy patient since moving to the area two years ago. My examinations are though, prescriptions are accurate and my orders are seamless and easy.

Paul is a brilliant Doctor and gives a thorough long exam. He is talented, experienced and has great taste and has beautiful wide selection of frames. I cant say enough nice things about him. He and his staff have taken care of me for years as well as my father for decades before me. He also checked my eyes for glaucoma since it runs in my family. He is also honest and fair, for example recently he said my eyesight had changed slightly but that I did not have to spend money to buy new glasses even though it had been a few years. I called at 10:03, three minutes after the opened, and they promptly answered with a friendly greeting. The doctor was booked all day til 5:30, something I witnessed, but they took my in between patients for an emergency. I was scared I had cut my cornea and was in extreme pain.
I walked in and they were already expecting me- paperwork took a minute and they checked on me to make sure I was okay.
I didn't have to wait long before the doctor saw me. He checked my eye very thoroughly and reassured me that my eye was fine, I had just gotten something in my eye that had irritated it intensely

Dr. Shahinian is one of the best optometrist I've ever been to.
I got here promptly for my 6:30 pm appointment, filled out the basic patient information form, handed my insurance to be checked, and waited less than 15 minutes before I was seen.
One thing of note. While an eye exam should be covered by most basic insurance plans, double check with your insurance to make sure a vision plan is included. This will save you a ton of hassle and speed up the process immensely.
Anyways, my eye exam was pretty routine, and Dr. Shahinian took his time to explain everything he was doing. I was done

Dr. Shahinian is an absolutely fabulous optician and medical professional. My entire family uses him for our eye care and he has always taken excellent care of each of us. He takes a great deal of time with each of his examinations and his prescriptions are always on target. I have known Dr. Shahinian on a personal level for years, and he is one of the kindest gentlemen you will ever meet. I also recently purchased my new frames from Linwood Optical, and I was really impressed with his knowledgeable staff. I have a larger head than the average person, yet his staff immediately fit me with a pair of black Gotti frames that fit me perfectly and make my face look nice and slim. Linwood Optical's professional staff taught me that I have been wearing the wrong shaped frames my entire life.

Dr. Shahinian's staff is highly knowledgeable, professional, and personable. The frame selection is comprehensive. I absolutely love the FreudenHaus frames I ended up purchasing here. And generally my lenses look like coke bottles because my eyes are so bad, but the master optician that worked on my lenses did a magnificent job cutting them to fit my frames discreetly.
10/10 will buy my next pair of glasses at Linwood Optical.

Dr. Shahinian is a true professional and lovely gentleman. His exams are completely thorough and you never feel as if he is rushing to get to the next patient. HIs staff is also very friendly and professional. He even took the time to meet with my son, at no charge, for a consultation about if, where and when to get lasik eye surgery. He's well worth it, even if you don't have the insurance. The frames are a little pricey, but excellent, top-of-the-line quality. The titanium frames he recommended for me have lasted nearly 10 years! Your eyes are precious, and he will take good care

I started seeing Dr. Shahinian when i was a student at Columbia University. I was referred to him by a family friend who raved about his gentle manner and thorough examinations. After one visit to Linwood Optical I was not only impressed by the care Dr. Shahinian expresses as a doctor, but also by the selection of glasses in his office. Linwood Optical has WONDERFUL frames and the optician is excellent. He is very good at helping you pick out frames to suit the shape of your face. Everything is of superb quality, and I've always been happy with the final product.

I've been seeing dr paul for over 10 years now and he's always been very professional and friendly. he likes to joke around with his patients and i've never once felt uncomfortable at linwood like you might sometimes in another dr's office. he pays a lot of attention to small details and will go back to make sure and re-do tests if results are less than certain. i went again for my yearly checkup this past week and asked him a few questions regarding a chart. he proceeded to take out a pen and a piece of paper to explain some physics to me. awesome doctor, totally recommended
