At Galveston Eye Care, each member of our vision care team is selected by Dr. Koyoh Ngala based upon his or her experience, professional demeanor, and dedication to providing personalized care to our optometry patients. Our entire Galveston optometry staff is committed to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of each and every patient.
Galveston Eye Care is own and directed by Dr. John Ngala who has been in private practice for 19 years. He is an optometric glaucoma specialist, a member of the American Optometric Association, and a University of Houston graduate. Class of 1990 - with Bachelor of Science in Biochemical and Biophysical sciences and a minor degree in Chemistry.
Proper eye care is important for people of all ages and regular eye exams are encouraged for everyone, but especially for those already using glasses or contact lenses. Your vision plays a vital role in your life each and every day, which is why it is so important to take the right steps for maintaining good eye health.
New patients keep our business growing, so we are always proud to offer high quality eye care services to our patients. In order to have a timely first visit, we will go over as much as possible on the phone. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We can discuss the reason for your visit, including whether or not you need new eyeglasses or contact lenses.

I have been a customer of Galveston Eye Care since 2004. I have also taken my two boys here. But today will be my last time coming here. The young lady they have answering the phones doesn't know her information I called twice and both times she informed me that an eye exam for contacts was $75. I go in do my eye exam and order a box per eye to find out I am being charged $150 for the exam, and I am told the $75 is for glasses and i stated I told her contacts twice. Then I'm told well you have been here plenty of times to know. Not a good way to do business and if you know I have been a good customer

I have a pretty unusual vision issue (lazy eye in one eye, good near vision in my "good" eye, need intermediate vision because I work on a computer all day, need both contacts and glasses). i recently moved into the area and needed a new optomotrist.
Dr. Ngala was attentive and creative in finding a solution;that worked for me which was better than what I have had over the past 30 years.
I can see. Close. Far. I can see. Give him a chance!

This is one of the best eye care facilities I’ve visited in recent times. since my first visit there, I’ve been back there several times. Customer service is apt and and the eye specialist (Dr. John) is just the best. They respect appointment times and wait time is never over 5 mins. The ultra modern eye equipment at this facility blows my mind. The clinic has some of the best frames there are in the market and wait time for glasses is hardly over 10 business days. I’m definitely going back there anytime I’ll need eye care services. I recommend this place to anyone needing eye care services

If I could give a 0 I would. The worst eye care facility in Galveston. The doctor is extremely rude, puts little to no effort into his exams. The girls in the front gave me misleading information pertaining to my visit. The doctor did not try to come up with a solution to misleading information that his workers gave me but instead almost ripped my contacts out of my eyes that I already used to keep them.

Galveston Eye Care is a great place for examinations and have a great selection for eyewear. The reception, processing, and testing with Ms. Claudia and Ms. Samantha was efficient, kind, patient, professional, and understanding. Dr. Ngala's evaluation and diagnosis was efficient, kind, patient, professional, sincere, and understanding as well. Dr. Ngala and his staff showed me the same sincerity during my follow-up visit for my eyewear fitting! Thank you everyone for a great experience. See you next time!
