After 20 years working in the computer field I believe that it has reached the point where average users cannot keep up. Sure there has always been a certain amount of knowledge required, but not like today. Microsoft has been grooming the public to know some of the basics that an average user needs to.

Larry checked my Lenovo Yoga when it stopped charging and diagnosed it as a broken motherboard. He was very responsive and up front about the options I had going forward and went out of his way to talk to other contacts about repair possibilities, replacements, etc.
When I told him it was my primary means of studying he offered to lend me a laptop to study in the week leading up to my MCAT. He's a great guy and very honest. You probably won't find a better service for the same price.

Bought a laptop Larry had listed on craigslist. Went to look at it, he told and showed me the specs. He didn't try to hide anything about it. It was an older model business laptop with good for the time, good enough for me specs. The price was good, I even asked if it came with the charger because it seemed on the low side. If you know what you're looking for my experience was "what you see is what you get", kind of a rarity these days. If you don't know what you need I would feel comfortable taking his advice based on the interaction I had. I read some of the other reviews on here and the responses

Larry was great, I phoned him with my problem and he basically said come on over. He fixed the problem and gave me a little computer knowledge while I waited, his service and consideration for my time was top notch. In the future I will only go to and refer to my friends the Computer Doctor. Thank you again Larry for the great service!

I bought a computer from Computer Doctor of Boise last night because my power went out and fried my computer. I work from home and this of course caused a huge issue for me and I needed an immediate fix, so went to Computer Doctor of Boise and he saved my life! Great computer! Great Price! Great owner! My laptop got infected with a dreadful virus, that all but shut it down. Larry was immediately responsive, recognized the virus and how it attacks computer files and the registry, explained technical issues in every day language and suggested corrective actions (installing free or low cost Malwarebytes) with no high pressure tactics. I also liked that he is professionally certified. He gave me cost estimates at every step, and alternatives such as to bring my computer to his place or pay $10 for him to retrieve it from my home. I contacted Larry about my laptop and he called back within 10 minutes. With the help I got from him I was able to get my computer back up in a hurry. Having a huge project due this week for school, it was imperative I got my system back up. He suggested two different ways to fix it and the second one worked. I would highly recommend Larry. Larry at the computer doctor was the only shop that I could find to fix my computer.
The rest told me to buy a new one. Larry replaced my hard drive and put windows 7 back on for less than $100. He also saved all my pictures and documents, I don't usually write a review but here is hoping that someone else can be helped like I was.
