I live in San Jose but since my Dad suggested DPS I took my car in to have the starter checked. It was turning over slowly but I didn't think it needed to be replaced, I just wanted an opinion. After the car was dropped off, the shop didn't call and consult or give a quote before changing the starter. They just did it and expected payment upon pick up. Even huge car manufacturers like Honda call the owner BEFORE doing the work. If I had known how much he was going to charge I would have gone elsewhere.

I have been going to Mario for at least 10 years now and he has never failed me. He has maintained my car for as long as I can remember and you can really trust his work. He will let you know if your car needs repair or not and If he repairs it, you can trust the quality of work that he does and it's hard to find a real mechanic that you can trust.

I'm reluctant to give this 5-star rating because I feel like Mario is one of little secrets best kept to myself. Mario has been so fair and generous that I almost feel obligated to leave this review and share him with the rest of the internet.
My first visit here was in attempt to get an answer about a whining noise coming from my car when in park and neutral. I'd first taken it to one mechanic who my dad swore - this mechanic listened to different parts of my car for about a minute or so before telling me the noise was coming from my alternator. He also charged me for the diagnosis

I have been bringing my car here for over a year, and I am continually impressed by Mario and his team. They are always willing to take my car in right away. When I arrive, I am quickly greeted and my car keys are collected. My oil change is done in less than a half hour, and Mario has never tried to sell me any extra services for my car. Mario is very trustworthy and an amazing mechanic!! He has been my mechanic for the last 5 years. For convenience (inexpensive, close to my house), I used to take my car to Walmart for oil changes . One time, at exactly 3,000 miles after a Walmart oil change, the check engine light came on but the car was running just fine. Very weird, considering that Infiniti recommends oil changes at 7,500 miles. I usually change my oil at 6,000-6,500 miles.
I took the car to Mario to get it checked out. Mario found nothing wrong and explained that some one had reset the computer to turn on the check

Mario has performed multiple repairs to multiple cars for me from simple spark plug replacement to replacing broken axels. As a young female with very little car-related knowledge, I love Mario's honest and straight forward approach. Any time I call, I can explain what the car is doing and he can give me an idea of what the problem may be. When my check engine light came on, he ran the diagnostic test for free and called promptly with the results and an estimate. He will explain the cost of parts and labor without ever trying to up-sell me.

Mario at DPS Auto has been servicing my family's vehicles for years (5 SUVs, 4 cars, 2 pickup trucks & 1 van). He's always been very friendly, accommodating, communicative and, most importantly, HONEST. His prices are very fair and reasonable. Mario is a very legitament and a good person and a good mechanic and he is also honest. So i was serching on google for good mechanics and i found D.P.S and i wanted to see if he was a nice guy and not a type of guy that rips people off.So when i took my car to him he fixed it in 1 day the next day the car was reddy and he told me to test drive it and so i did and when i did there was no problem and thats why i would recamend Mario and his shop D.P.S to anybody
