Over the past 45 years, I have had the good fortune of welcoming many of you through the doors of Dottie Doolittle here on Sacramento Street in San Francisco. It seems like a great time to open these doors to many of you who rarely have an opportunity to visit San Francisco. We carry the best of American and European designers for infants, girls through size 16, boys through size 12, and everything in between.
We always have an extensive collection of flower girl and special occasion dresses; and for boys, we have blazers, slacks, and Eton suits. Enjoy a small taste of our spectacular children's collection.

I'm very impressed with this store. The staff was warm and welcoming and very helpful. The selection is vast and unique. I purchased many things I've never seen anywhere else, including a wooden tea set that I know will turn into a keepsake item for my daughter as she grows up. They have a beautiful selection of hair accessories, especially for special occasions. The stuffed animal selection is absolutely wonderful - I purchased an adorable octopus for my son. I also picked up a wonderful shark puzzle for him that is beautifully illustrated. The customer service is fantastic. I bought a few hair

We had the worst experience here today. They have some necklaces in glass vials at the cash register. My son asked the clerk what it was, and she said to him in a condescending tone - "they're really fragile so don't touch it". He hadn't touched it, wasn't even contemplating touching it - so the warning really came out of left field. It's also bizarre because this is a kid store - so why stock things that kids can't touch? They made us feel really unwelcome and needless to say we won't be coming back.

I needed a last minute christening outfit for my son, and called here to check if they had something that might work. The woman on the phone (the owner I think) said they 'usually had a couple things' so I had hope but not high expectations. Boy was I wrong. They had a ton of options, including traditional formal gowns made of dupioni silk or cotton, for both girls and boys. They also had a good selection of white infant clothes (onesies, sweaters, hats, etc.) that I could have used in a pinch. Their selection is amazing.
That said, this is a place to buy heirloom quality children&apos

Great selection but the store is quite disorganized, expensive and the service was very off-putting - staff ignored us except for when my husband went to the upstairs part of the store. A woman asked him in an odd (not warm) tone "Can I help you???" and when he explained that he was looking for newborn clothing she said in a snide tone "Well you're not going to find THAT up here." and offered no further help.
The same woman also said she's not allowed to talk to customers in front of a group of .. customers. Awkward.
The rest of the staff, despite there being at

This is the premier luxury children's store in SF, a true boutique. My mom shopped here for me and now I shop here for my children. You've got to be doing A LOT right to be in business for multiple generations to shop with you. Brands you won't find anywhere else, edited with a meticulous and exacting eye. The prices in my opinion, reflect the quality. These are not disposable clothes, they are memory making moments clothes, clothes you remember and ask 20 years later "mom, remember THAT dress I had as a little girl?" And she knows exactly which dress and had saved it long

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We were so excited to buy our (eight) flower girl dresses at Dottie Doolittle. I was told they were $100 a piece and this was exactly our budget. After giving them my credit card and asking for an invoice or total before charging my card, they "forgot" and overcharged my credit card by $450! They said the dresses are suddenly $50 more a piece and now final sale - which they never told me before charging my card. Maggie, the owner said there's nothing she is willing to do for me even after admitting their mistake. Not even 10% off. She was even rude to me by

This store is as good as it gets. Wonderful stock, incredible taste, and an amazing staff. The customer service is incredible, especially Genevieve who really makes shopping there an fantastic experience. She is smart, thoughtful, always remembers my name, my girls sizes and what I tend to buy. Super super impressive. LOVE Dottie Doolittle and Genevieve!

Everyone here is so friendly and they go out of their way to help you.
They have a huge inventory of amazing clothes for all ages. They even do special holiday events for the kids. The store has a very intimate feel which is very welcoming.
We bought a few outfits for our daughter and just mentioned a toy we had been looking for. They found it in a second and brought it out to us.
I have a feeling that we will be coming here often and checking back for the Easter Bunny and Santa.

I have been shopping at Dottie Doolittle my entire life. My mom used to bring me here and now I shop for my daughters here, almost exclusively and that's for a few reasons- their customer service, their selection and their easy return/exchange/customer loyalty policy. When I started hitting it hard last the last couple of years, Genevieve instantly started greeting me each time I walked in the door - by name, asking about my girls, knowing their sizes and remembering what they each like (very specifically). Super impressive. Even when they are super busy and managing multiple customers, and

I went in ready to shop for my son and as anew mom it's exciting to find a small boutique that caters to babies & kids but as soon as I walked in no one greeted me and completely ignored me. The store was not busy at all...Two employees attended to one women and when I asked for help one employee said they were new whatever that means and the other just focused on her customer, I just left after 15minutes thinking eventually someone would ask if I needed help but I was wrong. NEVER GOING BACK and honestly prices are ridiculous

This store is out of this world! I was looking for a cute Christmas dress for my daughter and ended up finding that and so much more! The selection is incredible. They have a beautiful layette selection, everyday outfits, and fabulous dresses and formal wear. There are also shoes, bows, and other accessories to go with everything.
Genevieve was extremely helpful and so wonderful. She spent over an hour with me finding the perfect pieces and helping with some custom orders. It's a great store for gifts!
I loved this store and can't wait to go back! This is now my go-to store for all

Sweetest shop on Sacramento street!! If you're looking for the perfect newborn gift, play and swim wear for your own, or a special family portrait outfit you're in the place! The ladies are all so incredibly helpful. I have had several orders custom made and shipped to the store in time for events or holidays. They have great organic cotton lines and if you're in need of a bow they have an entire wall full! Every girls dream.
Can't say enough, great boutique!

Best quality sweaters and children clothing I've seen in San Francisco with some highly conservative in nature but a lot just plain gorgeous. This is a no price point shopping space so don't think you're at Gap Kids, this is only for those who want the best and are ready to commit on that level economically as well.

High marks for their incredible inventory... just a wonderful selection for your baby/child's milestones. Yes, prices can be on the higher side but to be fair I think they do offer a good range of prices for special yet casual outfits to let's take baby to the Black & White Ball. And I love that. Minus one star for the service... because while professional felt it was a little chilly/distracted.

Went here for a baby shower gift & we found so much more.
Crazzzzzzzzyyyyy cute baby/children boutique. The selection is huge and it's made up of probably some of the cutest things I've ever saw & this is coming from a dude. The staff was cool and not overly friendly. This is so much better than Baby Gap/Gymboree or the other corporate baby/kids clothing chains. @the same time the prices are HOLY BABY JESUS high but this is a San Francisco boutique in Laurel Heights....so it's expected.
You go here to get something special not to stretch your dollar. Will remember this

I'm completely a fan of this baby/children clothing boutique! For the first time, I've finally come across a store which carries as many clothing items for boys as it does for girls:)
They also have a full collection of Petit Bateau which I find is essential in dressing any little boy. They carry all the same brands that you would find at Nordstroms or Bloomingdales, but without the hassle of being in Union Square.
The pricing is also about the same as the larger stores, but the staff is completely knowledgeable and helpful in all their brands they carry.
I'm looking forward

It's a really cute shop for all the preppy (sometimes slightly hip) needs of the spawn of the well-heeled set. The selection of girls clothing far out strips the boys selection. It's like that everywhere really.
It's not cheap in any sense of the word. But it's one of the few places that regularly stocks neckties for under 2 boys. What? I needed one for an event.
From party to play clothes and a very small assortment of toys, it's not a bad place to hit if you've no idea what to get a young kid.

My experience with Dottie Doolittle started at infancy. As a tiny premature baby, it was one of the few spots in town the stocked things in my size. Fast forward to 6 years old... Saturday mornings at I. Magnin and saturday afternoons at Dottie Doolittle. They had the best European smocked dresses EVER. And still do, for that matter.
Hit Dottie Doolittle and you'll have the most impressive gift outfit at your friend's baby shower. For the new babies, they carry easy wash cotton stuff (and let's face it, that's what moms want) by Zutano, Kissy Kissy and Petit Bateau,
