West Beach Resort
West Beach Resort is located on the sunny and pristine west side of Orcas Island, Washington. We are a private destination resort specializing in providing guests with an authentic San Juan Islands getaway. We have been an Orcas Island lodging and hotel destination since 1938.

Stay in our fully-equipped beachfront cabins on our world class walk-out, west-facing, sand/pebble beach and watch the sunset as you relive the day's adventures from your private beach fire pit.We also offer ocean view and garden cabins, RV, camping, marina, boat rentals, general store, kayak and canoe rentals, and a seasonal activities kiosk and beachfront food service.
Services
Located right on the beach and facing due west, our one and two bedroom cabins feature queen size beds in separate bedrooms, full housekeeping kitchens with dishware, bathroom, wood stove with glass door, beach fire pit, BBQ and deck furniture, electric heating, bedding, towels. Complimentary WiFi is available at each unit along with housekeeping services on request via our app or the front desk.
Our classic beachfront cabins have recently been remodeled with a charm all their own. Most have hardwood floors and pine walls throughout. They are our "classic" West Beach Cabins and are our most popular. Their romantic charm and unique design are popular for those wanting a step above our standard beachfront cabins.
Located a short (15 second walk) distance from the beach and surrounded by towering evergreen trees, our ocean view cabins offer gorgeous westerly ocean and sunset views. Each unit is well equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, satellite TV with music channels, WIFI, wood stove with a glass door, covered deck with BBQ and deck furniture, and a hide-a-bed or futon in the living area.
This studio style partial view cabin is extremely private and cozy. This unit faces due west and overlooks the tranquil waters of President's Channel and the Canadian Gulf Island. Situated in a grassy meadow area all on it's own, the Madrona Cabin will offer the most privacy of all our rental units.
This larger studio-style garden cabin is popular for its amazingly comfortable king size bed, luxurious 310 thread count pima cotton linens with triple sheeting, and four pillows of varying firmness. A detached bunkhouse (~25' away from the main unit) is a hit with the kids. A cute cabin with extra touches you're sure to enjoy, it has become a favorite for young families any time of the year.

Always have fun at this place. Beautiful views and great staff. However some of the spaces are a bit too close but still thankful when we can snag a spot.

Amazing views and nature. Clean and cozy cabins, my only complaint would be the uncomfortable beds.

Amazing experience. Had a fire on the beach after sunset, saw bald eagles and otters in the morning. Staff was super friendly. Rooms were very clean.

Way over priced and very tired. We stayed in a cabin on the beach front and were enamored by the photos, which must have been taken 20+ years ago when the units were new. On arrival we were disappointed by dirty, smelly carpets, sticky woodwork and minimalist appointments. The setting was beautiful but the accomodations were old and worn. In the $100 - $200 per night range this may be acceptable for some. But at $325, we could have stayed at Rosario Resort and saved money. Plus they required prepayment with no cancellation option a full day in advance of arrival.. That should have been a clue.

This Family Beach Resort was pretty cool. It is totally for families and not really a place for a couples getaway, but none the less, was pretty nice. Even though the tents and cabins are right on top of each other (their website makes it seem wide open and spacious, but it really isn’t) they were very clean and I slept like a baby. No discount for fire bans but we still enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. The hike around Mountain lake on the other side of the island was totally worth it. 4 miles around. You can go crabbing at West Beach Resort but unless you bring the items needed to cook it, your

We’ve been blessed to be able to come here every summer since 2016. The view of the Salish Sea has always been phenomenal, and sunsets are always memorable. We make most of our meals together as a family in our cabin, but the local sites and businesses are fun to visit for meals and souvenirs. The inter-island ferry makes it easy to walk on or drive on to the local islands to expand our site-seeing options. Our family has made this a “we gotta go again next year grandpa!” kind of place. Cabins are always clean, and the staff and friendly and helpful. Hopefully you’ll be able to snag a chance

Incredibly magical place that books out up to a year in advance. They have cabins, tent cabins, RV hookups and camping along with a little store where you can pick up items like snacks, sunscreen, booze, ice, firewood, souvenirs, fishing tackle, ice cream and even hot dogs. This time we stayed in a tent cabin during record breaking heat. The cabins were warm during the day but very comfortable at night because they are built on platforms that allow for decent airflow. You don't spent time in the cabins during the day anyway, so that wasn't a big deal. Our tent cabin came with a bundle of wood too
