Wine and food accompany celebrations with friends and family. Since our wines are designed to be food-friendly, we are always creating and discovering recipes that pair well with our wines. Here are some of our favorites. This extremely versatile recipe was taught by Truffle Shuffle during a Saturday Supper Club.
The salmon and vegetables cook together in paper packets together with herbs and seasonings. It pairs with our Reverence Chardonnay made from grapes from the Durell Vineyard. The Family Album Mourvedre screams, "Cherry." We made a California twist on the French classic dish, duck with cherry sauce, by preparing duck tacos with cherry sauce.

Almost any vegetable can be substituted for the zucchini and onions, just slice the vegetables thinly. The vegetables will be slightly crisp but delicious.
It's all about the soil! We use no till to maintain and increase the micro-organisms which promote vine health and contribute to terroir. No till also conserves water by minimizing water run-off. We use cover crops to build up soil organic matter and provide nutrients to the vines. We work with nature to protect the grapes!

The wine was ok, the grounds are small, but mostly I did not feel welcomed by the staff here at all. The interactions didn't feel genuine in any way, I feel like we were judged and written off for looking a certain way straight from the start. Usually a sommelier will make small talk, etc - we were being served the next taste before we were even done with the previous one, before our time was up. Honestly, did not enjoy my time here - I did have a lovely time at other local wineries. Generally more laid back than Napa/Sonoma but still stuffy ...

This tasting room is run from the Aver residence property. John, the winemaker, is always there with a smile on his face. The tasting area is outdoors & very nice, with a view of the wooded hillside. Aver often invites local artisans to their tasting room to show their wares.
If you like reds, you'll love Aver. That's where John seems to spend most of his time. The wine names & labels are always related to Aver family history. Susan will always greet you & give you a name tag as you come in.
We think, some of the better wines in Santa Clara County!
